Abstract: A switch failure diagnosis device for using in a current path between an electric device and an electric storage device includes plural switches, a switch terminal voltage detector, and a controller. The switches are connected parallel to each other in the current path. The switch terminal voltage detector outputs a switch terminal voltage detection signal. The controller is configured to select the switches at different time in sequence and input an open instruction signal to each switch at the time when the switch is selected, and to determine, based on the switch terminal voltage detection signal output while the open instruction signal is given, that at least one of the switches has a failure if the detected voltage is in a failure determination range.

Abstract: An energy storage apparatus includes an energy storage device containing a case where a corner portion is formed by a first wall portion and a second wall portion, an opposedly facing member which opposedly faces the first wall portion, and an insulator covering at least a region of the opposedly facing member which opposedly faces the energy storage device. The opposedly facing member contains a body disposed along the first wall portion and an extension portion extending from the body along the second wall portion. The insulator contains a cover portion which extends to a distal end of the extension portion from a boundary position between the extension portion and the body along an opposedly facing surface of the extension portion which opposedly faces the second wall portion, is folded back at the distal end, and extends along an outer surface of the extension portion opposite to the second wall portion. A first inner surface of the cover portion which opposedly faces the opposedly facing surface of the extension portion includes a projecting portion which projects toward the opposedly facing surface.

Abstract: A state estimation device includes: a voltage detecting unit that detects voltages of energy storage devices; and an estimating unit that estimates a charge amount difference between at least two of the energy storage devices. At a reference time point T0 during constant current charging, the estimating unit performs: specific voltage setting for setting, as a specific voltage V0, a voltage of a low-voltage energy storage device at the reference time point T0; time obtaining for obtaining a time point at which a voltage of a high-voltage energy storage device reaches the specific voltage V0; and charge amount difference estimating for estimating the charge amount difference between the at least two energy storage devices based on the reference time point T0, the time point obtained in the time obtaining process, and a current flowing through the plurality of energy storage devices during the constant current charging.

The negative composite layer contains a non-graphitizable carbon having a particle diameter D50 of 2.0 μm or more and 6.0 μm or less. A corrected negative electrode density, which is defined as a value obtained by dividing, by a thickness of the separator substrate layer, a value obtained by multiplying a density of the negative composite layer by a thickness of the negative composite layer, is 1.2 (g/cm3) or more and 5.1 (g/cm3) or less.

Abstract: A negative electrode material contains an organic anti-shrink agent which is soluble in water, and the organic anti-shrink agent, when extracted from the negative electrode material with an alkali aqueous solution, has an average particle size of not less than 0.1 μm and not more than 9 μm in sulfuric acid having a specific gravity of 1.25. A lead-acid battery includes a negative electrode plate containing an organic anti-shrink agent having a S element content of 4000 μmol/g or more. The negative electrode contains 0.3 mg/cm3 or more of the S element in the organic anti-shrink agent.
