Abstract: An energy storage system for an aircraft includes an enclosure having at least one vent hole, a plurality of energy storage devices arranged in the enclosure, and a ventilation system. The ventilation system includes an electrical circuit having at least one conductor arranged across the plurality of energy storage devices, a power source electrically coupled to and powering the electrical circuit, and a thermal vent mechanism positioned adjacent to the vent hole. During normal operation, the electrical circuit is open, and the thermal vent mechanism covers the vent hole. During a thermal event, the thermal event causes the electrical circuit to close such that the power source activates the thermal vent mechanism to expose the at least one vent hole to vent fumes outside of the aircraft.

Abstract: A method for generating smoke in a cell pack by which a very small amount of smoke can be generated from a specific single unit cell among unit cells constituting the cell pack. The method causes smoke generation in a cell pack in which unit cells are connected and which includes a positive electrode output terminal for electrically connecting the positive electrode terminal of the unit cell and an external device, and a negative electrode output terminal for electrically connecting the negative electrode terminal of the unit cell and an external device. By attaching a heating means to the negative electrode output terminal, the electrode body of a specific single unit cell is heated through the negative electrode output terminal to which the heating means is attached. As a result, it is possible to cause the generation of a small amount of smoke from the specific single unit cell.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an electric power and thermal management system in which, when a shaft is rotated due to an operation of a power part, generation of electric power and a circulation of a fluid are performed together so that the generation of the electric power and a circulation structure of oil are integrated, and thus a layout can be reduced, and a structure can be simplified. In addition, in a state in which the generation of the electric power and the circulation structure of the oil are integrated, a circulation amount of the oil is adjusted according to an angle of an inclined plate constituting a pumping mechanism so that an oversupply of the oil to parts through which the oil is circulated can be prevented.
