Abstract: A method and apparatus for a wireless device of reduced capabilities to access a wireless communication network targeted to operate with wireless device having higher capabilities is disclosed. The device may receive from a base station of the wireless communication network an indication of whether the type of devices that includes the wireless device of reduced capabilities is allowed to access the wireless communication network. The device may transmit to the base station signaling associated with connecting to the base station if the base station indicates that the type of devices with reduced capabilities is allowed to access the wireless communication network. The signaling allows the device to connect to the base station. The device may transmit capability information of the device to the base station. The device may configure its features based on the capability information to communicate with the base station.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for a UE to manage and measure intra-cell cross link interference (CLI) when served by a base station operating in full-duplex FDD. The signaling may indicate to a victim UE resources to measure to determine the level of CLI from aggressor UEs. The resources used for the CLI measurement may be resources not scheduled by the base station for use by the victim UE for downlink reception, but are scheduled for use by the aggressor UEs for transmitting uplink traffic or for transmitting reference signals used to characterize the uplink channel. The victim UE may report the CLI measurements to the base station for the base station to adjust scheduling of downlink resources to the victim UE. In one aspect, the signaling from the base station may indicate to the victim UE the locations of scheduled downlink symbols that may potentially be impacted by CLI.

Abstract: Systems and methods for analyzing a validity of an early measurement report (EMR) measurement result are described herein. A base station may configure a threshold value for EMR result validity and receive, from a user equipment (UE), a first measurement value corresponding to a first time at or before expiration of a timer associated with idle mode or inactive mode measurements. The base station receives, from the UE, a second measurement value corresponding to a second time when a radio resource control (RRC) connection setup or resume procedure starts. The base station then determines, based on a comparison of the threshold value to a difference between the first measurement value and the second measurement value, whether the EMR result is valid.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) monitors a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) in multiple component carriers (CC). The UE determines if the UE is operating in carrier aggregation (CA) mode having a first CC in a first frequency band and a second CC in a second frequency band. When the UE is operating in CA with a first CC in the first frequency band and the second CC in the second frequency band, the UE determines a span pattern for PDCCH symbols being received on the first and second CC and selects a PDCCH monitoring type based on, at least, the span pattern. A UE also determines if a first CC and a second CC of a CA combination are collocated and selects a PDCCH monitoring type based on, at least, the determination of whether the first and second CC are collocated.
