Abstract:
A scroll compressor having a simple structure is disclosed, which effectively decreases the thrust load imposed on the revolving scroll without degrading the compression efficiency. The scroll compressor comprises a casing; a fixed scroll provided in the housing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate; and a revolving scroll provided in the casing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate, wherein the spiral protrusions of each scroll are engaged with each other so as to form a spiral compression chamber. In the above structure, an introduced working gas is compressed in the compression chamber and then discharged according to the revolution of the revolving scroll; a thrust member for thrust-supporting the end plate of the revolving scroll is provided at the back-face side of the end plate of the revolving scroll; a pressure pocket is formed in a face of one of the thrust member and the end plate of the revolving scroll, wherein said face faces the other of the thrust member and the end plate of the revolving scroll; and a high-pressure introduction hole for introducing a high-pressure fluid into the pressure pocket is provided at one of the thrust member side and the revolving scroll side.
Abstract:
A thrust ball bearing provided in an open scroll-type compressor can withstand a large compressive load on the bearing and prevents wear of the mating surfaces. The thrust ball bearing has a first thrust plate 9a for performing spiral revolution; a second thrust plate 4a opposing the first thrust plate 9a; and a retaining device 40 disposed between the thrust plates 4a, 9a and provided with retaining cavities 42 for retaining a ball 41 in each cavity where a radius &rgr; of spiral revolution of the first plate, a diameter d of the ball and a diameter D of the retaining cavity are related by an expression D≧d×&rgr;.
Abstract:
A scroll hydraulic machine which can prevent a key groove of an aluminum front case from being abnormally abraded even when lubricating oil runs out, and which can reduce the number of parts, is provided. The scroll hydraulic machine includes a fixed scroll, a swirling scroll performing a revolutionary swirling motion while engaging with the fixed scroll, an Oldham joint having a key for causing a swirling scroll to move in a revolutionary swirling motion while preventing the swirling scroll from rotating a front case, and a case body receiving the fixed scroll, The swirling scroll and the Oldham joint are positioned within a housing formed by attaching the front case to an opening portion of an end thereof. A key groove portion to which the key of the Oldham joint is fitted and a portion supporting a thrust force acted on the swirling scroll of the front case are made of a ferrous alloy.
Abstract:
An amino acid sequence that can specifically introduce a mucin type sugar chain into a protein or peptide chain and a technique of introducing a mucin type sugar chain into protein or peptide by utilizing such a sequence are disclosed. GalNAc moiety of UDP-GalNAc (where UDP represents uridine 5'-diphosphate and GalNAc represents N-acetylgalactosamine) is introduced into the amino acid X(O) in the presence of UDP-GalNAc: polypeptide .alpha.1, O-GalNAc transferase (O-GalNAc T): X(-1)-X(0)-X(1)-X(2)-X(3) (I) where X(-1) and X(2) represent independently any amino acid, X(O) represents T or S and X(1) and X(3) represent independently any amino acid except that at least one of X(1) and X(3) represents P.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes image forming device for forming an image on a recording material, the image forming device including an image bearing member, a charging member for charging the image bearing member and a voltage source for supplying a voltage to the charging member; and determining device for determining a substantial intersection between an actual voltage-current characteristic curve between the charging member and the image bearing member and a predetermined voltage-current curve predetermined for the charging member, and for determining a bias to be applied to the charging member during image forming operation of the basis of the intersection.
Abstract:
A developing apparatus includes an image bearing member for bearing an electrostatic image, a developer carrying member, opposed to the image bearing member to form a developing zone therebetween, for carrying a developer to the developing zone to develop an electrostatic latent image on the image bearing member, and oscillating bias means for applying an oscillating bias to the developer carrying member, wherein the oscillating bias includes a constant-current-controlled AC component and a constant-voltage-controlled DC component.
Abstract:
A method for producing L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine comprising contacting microorganism cells having .beta.-tyrosinase activity with catechol, pyruvic acid and ammonium ion or with catechol and L-serine, at a temperature lower than 25.degree. C. in the presence of anhydrous crystals of L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine. L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine formed from said contacting precipitates as anhydrous crystals in the reaction mixture, and the thus-precipitated anhydrous crystals can be collected. According to the method of the present invention, crude crystals of L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine having a high purity may be obtained at a high yield of recovery.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus for adjusting image density includes an input device for inputting a plurality of image type information and a discriminating device for discriminating the image type information in accordance with a signal other than a signal to be recorded. An image forming circuit, such as a printer, forms an image on the basis of image type information. A density adjusting circuit adjusts the image forming density of the image forming circuit in accordance with the input image type information. The discriminating device inputs a signal indicative of whether the input image type information indicates a text image or a graphics image, or whether it denotes Japanese or a European language (e.g., English). The discriminating device also inputs a signal indicative of the kind of font included in the input image type information or a signal indicative of a resolution for an output image to be formed by the printer.
