Abstract:
A device may join an existing mesh network by authenticating with only one of a plurality of member devices of the existing mesh network. Once the device has successfully authenticated with the only one member device, the device may receive a common group key. The device may send a route request message encrypted with the common key to one or more of the plurality of member devices of the existing mesh network. In response, the device may receive one or more route reply messages encrypted with the common key from one or more of the plurality of member devices of the existing mesh network. The device may determine an optimal route to one or more provider member devices of the existing mesh network based on the received route reply messages.
Abstract:
A method of communication includes generating a traffic advertisement at a particular device. The traffic advertisement indicates availability of data to be sent by the particular device to multiple devices. The method also includes sending, from the particular device, the traffic advertisement during a paging window. The method further includes receiving an unavailable message from a first device of the multiple devices during a data transmission window that is subsequent to the paging window. The method also includes, in response to receiving the unavailable message from the first device, refraining from sending first data from the particular device to the first device during the data transmission window.
Abstract:
A method of communication includes generating a control message at a particular device. The control message indicates availability of data to be sent by the particular device. The data includes first data corresponding to a first access category. The method also includes, subsequent to determining that transmission of the control message is to be delayed, determining a first delay based on the first access category. The method further includes sending the control message from the particular device upon expiration of a delay period. The delay period is based on the first delay.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, apparatuses, and devices are described for aligning wireless local area network (WLAN) operations with reporting of transmit power information via a cellular network. A mobile device may identify information to be communicated for a WLAN operations. The mobile device may determine a reporting schedule for transmit power information to a serving base station of the cellular network. The information may be communicated on a schedule determined based on the reporting schedule for transmit power information. The information communicated for the WLAN operation may be communicated between subsequent reporting instances for the transmit power information.
Abstract:
In a multi-radio user equipment (UE) various techniques may be used to buffer communications for a first radio access technology (RAT). A low channel quality for a second RAT is reported. An indication to halt downlink communications of the second RAT based on the reported low channel quality is received. The buffered communications by the first RAT when the second RAT downlink communications are halted are transmitted. An indication to the second RAT is sent to resume normal channel quality reporting.
Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) uses information regarding dynamic resource allocation in a mobile wireless service (MWS) radio access technology (RAT) to improve MWS and wireless connectivity network (WCN) RAT coexistence. The UE may receive an indication of time and frequency resources of future activity of the MWS RAT. The UE may schedule communications of the WCN RAT based at least in part on the indication of the time and frequency resources of the future activity.
Abstract:
A method includes transmitting, from an electronic device in a neighbor awareness network (NAN) via a first wireless protocol, a wake up message indicating discovery information associated with a second wireless protocol. The method further includes communicating information via the NAN using the second wireless protocol after transmitting the wake up message.
Abstract:
Systems and methods in accordance with various embodiments provide for robust service IDs for utilization in wireless devices in neighbor aware networks. In certain embodiments, a service ID is generated as a hash value from a diversified input string. One aspect of the subject matter described in the disclosure provides a method of transmitting service information in a wireless neighborhood aware network. The method includes generating, via a wireless device, a message including a hash value of a data string, the data string including both a name of a service and information identifying a type of the message. The message further includes a matching filter field including matching filter information that characterizes the service named in the data string. The method further includes transmitting the message.
Abstract:
A wireless device that operates in accordance with the IEEE 802.11 standard receives the preamble of a packet with the highest number of receive chains enabled, thereby obtaining the highest gain, detection sensitivity and range. The wireless device determines a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in response to two different short training fields (STFs) in the preamble. The wireless device also determines a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) and a number of spatial streams (Nss) used to transmit the received packet in response to a signal field of the preamble. The wireless device uses these determined parameters to identify a minimum number of the receive chains required to reliably receive the packet. The wireless device uses only the identified minimum number of receive chains to perform channel estimation and receive the data portion of the packet.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and computer program products for synchronization of wireless devices in a peer-to-peer network are described herein. In one aspect, a method of communicating in a neighborhood aware network (NAN) is provided. The method includes generating a NAN frame including one or more of a first address field, a second address field, a third address field, a third address field, and an information element. The method further includes encoding a NAN identifier in at least one of the first address field, the third address field, and the information element. The method further includes transmitting the NAN frame.
