    Abstract: An illustrative cellular network optimized for data communication in accordance with a set of parameters is described herein. The cellular network may receive a data communication that is to be delivered, in accordance with a set of parameters, from a first communication device to a second communication device. A particular user plane function (UPF) node may process the data communication in accordance with the set of parameters. The particular UPF node may be included in a set of UPF nodes deployed at sites including an edge site associated with a cellular base station and a central site associated with a network core. Based on the processing by the particular UPF node, the cellular network may deliver the data communication from the first communication device to the second communication device in accordance with the set of parameters. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

    Abstract: A method may include identifying a network slice to service an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and assigning the identified network slice to the UAV. The method may also include receiving, from a user equipment (UE) device, a message intended for the UAV, transmitting the message to the UAV and receiving, from the UE device, information identifying an error rate associated with the message. The method may further include determining whether the error rate is greater than a threshold error rate and in response to determining that the error rate is greater than the threshold error rate, at least one of modifying a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) associated with transmitting the message to the UAV, or retransmitting the message to the UAV at least one time.

    Abstract: A User Equipment (“UE”) described herein may connect or request connection to a base station of a wireless network. The base station may implement multiple frequency bands, and connecting or requesting connection to the base station may include connecting or requesting connection via a particular frequency band of the multiple frequency bands. The UE may provide an indication of the particular frequency band to a core of the wireless network. The core may select a set of parameters for communications between the UE and the wireless network based on the indication of the particular frequency band. Additionally, or alternatively, the core may provide an indication of the particular frequency band to a device that provides a service to the UE via the wireless network, and the device may select parameters for the service based on the indication of the particular frequency band.
