Abstract: A method and system for completing a voice call in a cloud-based communication system is provided. A cloud-based group voice call service receives a group voice call initiation request from a first mobile device located at a first communication system. The group voice call initiation request is a request to complete a group voice call with a second mobile device located at a second communication system. The cloud-based group voice call service allocates resources at the first communication system and the second communication system. The cloud-based group voice call service issues a call grant to the first mobile device located at the first communication system and also issues a call response to the second mobile device located at the second communication system in order to complete the voice call.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for facilitating improved training of a supervised machine learning process, such as a decision tree. First and second object detections of an object depicted in a video are respectively generated using first and second object detectors, with the second object detector requiring more computational resources than the first object detector to detect the object. Whether a similarity and a difference between the first and second object detections respectively satisfy a similarity threshold and a difference threshold is determined. When the similarity threshold is satisfied, the first object detection is stored as a positive example for the machine learning training. When the difference threshold is satisfied, the first object detection is stored as a negative example for the machine learning training.

Abstract: Techniques for enhancing strategic patrol planning and dispatch decision making based on gone on arrival prediction are provided. In one aspect, a crime prediction map may be retrieved. The crime prediction map may include incident locations and incident times, of predicted incidents occurring within a geographic area. The predictions may be based on historical data, the historical data including data from a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system. For each predicted incident location and incident time, a probability of gone on arrival (GOA) incident disposition may be calculated for a plurality of responder response times. The probability may be calculated based on the historical data from the CAD system.

Communications at each of the plurality of dispatcher terminals are controlled based on the assigning of the subsets of the one or more of the channels and the talkgroups to the plurality of dispatcher terminals.

Abstract: A process for scheduling downloads for communication devices connected to a download server through a common access point. In operation, the download server receives a download request from a first communication device. The download request includes a unique access point identifier of a first access point through which the first communication device is connected to the download server. The download server identifies an access point record that is linked to the unique access point identifier of the first access point and updates the identified access point record to include the first communication device in a communication devices list included in the identified access point record. When a count of communication devices included in the communication devices list is greater than the predetermined count threshold, the download server delays an execution of a download service corresponding to the download request received from the first communication device.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for extending discharge over-current trip time in a battery protection circuit are disclosed. The protection circuit includes a safety circuit that asserts a first discharge over-current indicator when the discharge current of the battery exceeds a first discharge over-current threshold corresponding to a sustained over-current limit, a delay circuit that applies an added delay to the assertion of the first discharge over-current indicator, and a short circuit detection circuit that asserts a second discharge over-current indicator, with no delay added, when the discharge current exceeds a second discharge over-current threshold corresponding to a cell-specific peak output current limit. The battery protection circuit includes a logic circuit configured to assert a discharge over-current control signal to disable the battery responsive to assertion of the first discharge over-current indicator or the second discharge over-current indicator.

Abstract: A process for operating a communication device to provide location information within status notification messages. The communication device detects a status notification event and responsively retrieves, from a memory, a last known location of the communication device and a timestamp of the last known location. The communication device generates a status notification message including a status code corresponding to a detected status of a user of the communication device, the last known location of the communication device, the timestamp of the last known location, and a unique identifier identifying the status notification message. The status notification message is then transmitted from the communication device to at least one other communication device or a status notification server.

Abstract: A holster is provided to receive a radio (mobile communications device). The radio is operatively equipped with a front-facing touchscreen. The holster is equipped with an optical reflector. The optical reflector is adapted to change the direction of light rays passing through it in order to reflect only a portion of the front-facing touchscreen to a top window located within the holster. The top window and the touchscreen are substantially perpendicular to each other. The holster is equipped with at least one capacitive touch extension element that couples the top window to a point on the touchscreen to control an interface element on the touchscreen.
