A counterbalance assembly for an appliance hinge has a base including first and second spaced-apart side walls and a transverse face wall. A channel is located between the first and second side walls. First and second notch portions are respectively located in the first and second side walls. A rotating cam is supported on the base and has a camshaft that extends between the side walls and that is adapted for rotation about an axis of rotation, a first end located in the first notch portion and a second end located in the second notch portion. A biasing spring has an inner end engaged with the base and an outer end spaced from the base. A spring rod includes an outer end operatively coupled to the spring and an inner end operatively coupled to the lever. The lever also pivotally connects to the lobe of the cam. A damper assembly is connected to the base and having a piston which is moved between a first position and a second position by the lever contacting the piston. The piston in turn compresses fluid in the damper assembly thus dampening movement of the lid hinge.

A door closure structure for a rotary door and a side-by-side refrigerator comprising the same are provided. The door closure structure comprises: a slide passage formed in an upper end surface of the rotary door; a hinge assembly comprising a hinge body, a hinge plate and a hinge shaft; and a swing plate extended in a lateral direction, a first end of the swing plate pivotably connected to a front end of the hinge body, an angle between the swing plate and the upper end surface of the rotary door ranging from 0 to 90°; a spring having two ends connected to the swing plate and the front end of the hinge body respectively; and a roller rotatably disposed at a second end of the swing plate to catch into or roll out of the slide passage following a movement of the swing plate.

A hinge device has a base, a body removably provided at the base, and a mounting member rotatably connected to the body. The base has a base member, a first movable member disposed at the base member such that the first movable member is movable in a first direction and non-movable in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, and a second movable member disposed at the first movable member such that the second movable member is movable in the second direction and non-movable in the first direction, and the body removably attached to the second movable member. A first position adjustment mechanism is provided between the base member and the first movable member. The first position adjustment mechanism adjusts position of the first movable member with respect to the base member in the first direction.

A hinge device in which a slider elastically supported by a compressive coil spring is put into contact with a pivotal lever installed on a cover of a product which swings open or closed. The coupling of the three units (12, 14, 16) and the presence of spring (38) are such that, when the rotating unit (16) rotates in a first sense of rotation, the translating unit (14) is caused to translate in a direction and such that, when the translating unit (14) translates in an opposite direction, the rotating unit (16) is caused to rotate in an opposite sense of rotation.

A door closer is described, which has an output shaft, on which a cam disc is torsion-resistantly disposed, and has a pressure roller. By means of an operational connection, a closer spring presses the pressure roller against a running surface of the cam disc. In relation to an axial center of the output shaft, the pressure roller is disposed such that, during opening or closing of a swing leaf coupled to the output shaft, the pressure roller is movable along a path. Due to the fact that the path bypasses the axial center of the output shaft and on account of the configuration of the running surface of the cam disc, at a respective opening angle of the swing leaf, in different modes of operation of the door closer, a very similar or identical torque is respectively applied to the output shaft.

A hinge apparatus for a cover of an image forming apparatus has a hinge body with supporting brackets, movably inserted into a coupling hole positioned in a main body of the image forming apparatus, a hinge cam connected to the cover and pivotably connected to the supporting brackets, and a pressure device disposed at the hinge body to press the hinge cam. Accordingly, the hinge apparatus can be implemented with a simple and easy assembly operation, since it is not a complicated structural connection among the component parts of the hinge apparatus.
