Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a document image generating section, a medium ID generating section, a correspondence information storing section and an image output section. A document image generating section generates a document image based on a managed data in the apparatus. A medium ID generating section generates a medium ID for identifying a medium on which the document image is printed. A correspondence information storing section stores correspondence information by which the managed data and the medium ID are correlated with each other. An image output section outputs an image in which a code image indicating the medium ID is superimposed on the document image.
Abstract:
A predetermined region set on a grayscale image is divided into rectangles each having a predetermined size (S706), and piled patterns which hold the accumulated values of pixel values at identical pixel positions upon piling up the divided rectangles is generated (S707). An alignment pattern is generated by calculating the logical sum of respective bit expression patterns (S708). A peak position which matches the alignment pattern on the piled patterns best is obtained (S710). The position of the predetermined region is corrected based on the peak position, and the predetermined region after correction is divided into rectangles each having the predetermined size (S711) Patterns in the divided rectangles are recognized (S712). Embedding information corresponding to each recognized pattern is specified (S713).
Abstract:
A method of enabling a user to obtain a printed copy of a document previously printed by the user is provided. A history list of documents previously printed by the user is maintained. A list document is printed at a printer. The list document includes history items from the history list and a user interface element associated with each history item. The user interface element allow is the user to indicate a request for a copy of a previously printed document associated with the history item by sensing the interface element in the printed list document using a sensing device. When request data is received from the sensing device, the copy is retrieved and printed.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus determines an embedding method for embedding sub information into a main image to be printed on a recording layer based on the degree of optical shielding of a protection layer or a security layer formed on the surface of the recording layer, on which an image is to be printed, with respect to the surface of the recording layer in a recording medium, and generates a composite image obtained by embedding the sub information into the main image by the determined embedding method as the image to be printed on the recording layer of the recording medium.
Abstract:
There is provided a message processing apparatus including an image inputting unit for inputting a document image, an extracting unit for extracting a character image from the input document image, and an embedding unit for embedding watermark message by correcting a density value of the extracted character image.
Abstract:
A content conversion device includes a non-still picture data detecting unit which detects non-still picture data contained in a first electronic document that is an object to be processed, an embedded image generating unit which generates, in a data addition target image representing a frame contained in the non-still picture data or an image associated with the non-still picture data, embedded image data in which information about the non-still picture data is embedded, and an electronic document converting unit which creates a second electronic document in which the non-still picture data of the first electronic document is replaced with the embedded image data.
Abstract:
A system is provided for copying interactive documents which has a copier for scanning a surface of a document, a computer system networked with the copier and a printer networked with the computer system. The document is printed with document content and a plurality of coded tags. Each tag encodes an identity of the document and the position of that tag on the document. The copier incorporates a sensor for sensing the coded tags. The computer system identifies a digital version of the document from the document identity of a sensed tag and determines user input, requesting copy content and/or coded data from the computer system, on the scanned document using the tag position of the sensed tag. The printer prints a copy of the scanned document to incorporate the scanned document content and coded tags and the requested copy content and/or coded data.
Abstract:
A sensing device for sensing coded data on a surface, generating indicating data using the coded data, and transmitting the indicating data to a computer system is provided. The coded data is indicative of an identity of a region of the surface and of a plurality of locations of the region, whilst the indicating data comprises data regarding a region identity of the surface and data regarding a position and/or movement of the sensing device relative to the surface. The sensing device comprises: (a) an image sensor configured for sensing and capturing images of at least some of the coded data when the sensing device is placed in an operative position relative to the surface; (b) a processor for generating the indicating data using the captured images; and (b) a transmitter for transmitting the indicating data to the computer system. The processor is configured to (i) identify at least some of the coded data from one or more of the captured images, (ii) determine an orientation, within the captured images, of the at least some of the coded data, (iii) decode the at least some of the coded data; and (iv) generate the indicating data using the decoded coded data.
Abstract:
The presently claimed invention relates generally to creative works and determining whether two or more creative works correspond. One claim recites a method including the acts of: (a) identifying plural local extrema within a two dimensional array of data signal that corresponds to a first creative work; (b) storing information relating to the plural local extrema identified in act (a) in a computer database for future reference; (c) thereafter, identifying plural local extrema within a two dimensional array of data signal that corresponds to a second creative work; and (d) determining correspondence between information relating to the plural local extrema identified in act (c) with the stored information, to thereby determine whether the first creative work and second creative work correspond. Of course, other claims and combinations are provided as well.
