摘要: An arrangement for the exchange of filter hoses which are arranged in parallel in a filter box which is introduced into a filter chamber where contaminated gas enters through the sides of the filter hoses and purified gas leaves through their open ends. The filter box comprises a frame in which the open ends of the filter hoses are detachably fixed. The filter box is introduceable into a special chamber for the exchange of dirty filter hoses for clean ones by lowering the filter box through an opening in the chamber until the frame rests on supporting elements arranged in the opening. The detachable ends of the filter hoses are accessible from the "pure gas side," and the filter hoses, after being detached from the frame, drop down into the bottom of the exchange chamber for collection of the dirty filter hoses.

摘要: A system for conveying gypsum slabs through a slab sorting section, a slab distributing section, a slab drying section and a slab removal section in that order. In the sorting section, suction boxes located above the slab path support the moving slabs, which are moved by rotating rollers acting on the upper surfaces of the slabs and holding the slabs a slight distance below the openings in the suction boxes. Undesired slabs are dropped out by reducing the suction pressure. The distributing section uses a laterally-movable distributing table, suction boxes above the slabs, and blower boxes below the slabs, so that the slabs can be gently dropped into different lateral positions on the distributing table; rollers like those in the sorting section are used to control slab advance. In the drying section, blower boxes are used below the slabs for support and drying; blower boxes may also be used above the slabs in the drying section, and brush-type rollers used to advance the slabs. The drying-section boxes are preferably wedge-shaped, with air supplied from the wider edges. The supply of air to the blower and suction boxes can be selectively turned on and off as the slabs progress along their path.

摘要: Process and apparatus for controlling the flow of ventilating-tempering air in a room to cause the flow to remain primarily along the walls, ceiling and floor, thereby to achieve better distribution of incoming air and more uniform room temperatures without uncomfortable drafts in the main body of the room. To accomplish this, the ventilating-tempering air is initially launched into the room along a boundary surface such as a wall or ceiling, and nozzles below the ceiling form air screens or jets below the ventilating-tempering air stream to guide it along the ceiling and down the walls. An intermediate grate-like ceiling of crossed lamellae is also preferably used to aid in separating ventilating-tempering air stream from the main center of the room.

摘要: A ventilated enclosure, for example a paint-spraying booth, is divided into two or more zones by one or more isolating curtains of rapidly-flowing air. One longitudinal curtain is used on each side of the object to be treated in the enclosure, to provide a central longitudinal zone for the surface treatment process and two side zones for the workmen. The two curtains converge downwardly toward each other so that the ventilating air flowing downwardly between the curtains exits from the central zone largely by way of the space between said objects. Transverse curtains and/or additional longitudinal curtains may also be used with special advantages, particularly when the speeds and positions of the curtains are specially selected.

摘要: A dust separator in which a plurality of elongated emission electrodes are detachably held at one end in respective holder fittings secured to a pair of parallel, slightly-resilient inner frame members, or holders, which in turn are secured to substantially non-resilient outer frame members, and at their other ends in at least one holder fitting secured to a common cylindrical central holder extending between and parallel to the frame members; the electrode assembly is tensioned by adjustment of screws fastening said inner frame members or holders to said outer frame members. In one form the holder fittings are hollow cylinders through which the electrodes extend, and the electrodes are positioned in the fittings by their bent-over ends and clamped therein by tubular members forced into the hollow cylinders. In another form, specially-shaped holder shoes are used, in which dove-tailed ends of the electrodes are held. In both forms, the emission electrode preferably is folded slightly about its longitudinal axis to produce a V-shaped cross section which provides strength, good electrical contact and ease of assembly.

摘要: To improve the energy balance of the method, air heated to a temperature at which the mixture can be dried is brought in contact with the mixture in form of an air-stream, which also conveys the mixture through the plant during the process. This moist air giving off most of its heat during drying is vented, and the dried mixture is subsequently conveyed for exposure to a stream of hot air to effect separation of plastic and paper from each other, the resulting particles then being separated in an air classifier, or cyclone, and the heated dry air being recirculated to the entry point of the plant for reuse in the process to dry additional moist material being introduced therein.

摘要: In a plant for purifying contaminated air, the contaminants are transferred from the air to a liquid flowing through a spray booth through which the contaminated air also flows in intimate contact with the liquid. The liquid is then collected in a container, from which it is recirculated to the spray booth. The closed liquid circulation circuit in flow communication with the spray booth is connected to a biological cleaning step in which the contaminants dissolved and/or suspended in the liquid are decomposed and then separated. The biological cleaning step comprises a bioreactor in which the main portion of the bio-degradation occurs, and a separator, for separation of the biosludge coming from the reactor. At least part of the contaminated liquid passing through the spray booth is continuously transferred to the biological cleaning stage from which substantially the same quantity of the cleaned liquid is recirculated to the spray booth circulation circuit.

摘要: A joint system for structural panels in which the panels have an edge construction providing a U-shaped profile having a side leg spanning between the opposite surfaces of the panel, a base coplanar with one of the surfaces and a clamp leg having an inwardly projecting portion. The panels are interconnected by cover strips of U-shaped cross section having a body adapted to overlie the clamp legs of the adjoining panels. At the opposite side edges of the body, arms extend inwardly and mount locking strips which extend toward the center of the body and are adapted to engage with the inwardly projecting portions of the profile to permit the panels to be connected in endwise alignment, at right angles, or in back-to-back relation. The patent specification discloses several different configurations of the U-shaped construction and several different configurations for the cover strips.
