    摘要: The invention provides a process for the recovery of purified lactic acid values from an aqueous feed solution containing lactic acid, lactic acid salt, or mixtures thereof, comprising: bringing the feed solution into contact with a substantially immiscible anion exchanger to form a substantially water-immiscible phase comprising an anion exchanger-lactic acid adduct; effecting a condensation reaction in the substantially water-immiscible phase between a carboxylic moiety of the lactic acid adduct and a moiety selected from a hydroxyl moiety and a primary or secondary amine moiety to respectively form a lactic acid ester or amine product; and separating the formed lactic acid product from the anion exchanger.

    摘要: A method for the combined production of (I) a fertilizer selected from a group consisting of ammonium nitrate, ammonium phosphates or a combination thereof through an indirect neutralization of ammonia with an acid selected form a group consisting of nitric acid, phosphoric acid and a combination thereof and of (II) a sulfur compound selected from a group consisting of elemental sulfur, SO2, sulfuric acid and sulfate salts, said method comprising (a) contacting a sulfur oxide containing gas with ammonia and an aqueous liquor, whereby a sulfur oxide containing product is formed and the resulting gas has a reduced SO2 content; (b) reacting a sulfur oxide containing product resulting from step (a) with a reagent selected from a group consisting of nitric acid, phosphoric acid, a mixture thereof and salts formed by the reaction of said acids to form said fertilizer and a sulfur compund, and (c) separating at least a portion said sulfur compound from said fertilizer.

    摘要: The invention provides a process for the recovery of ascorbic acid from a feed containing at least one precursor of ascorbic acid comprising converting the precursor into at least one product, the at least one product being ascorbic acid in an organic extractant composition, the organic extractant composition comprising at least one secondary or tertiary alkyl amine in which the aggregate number of carbon atoms is at least 20, as a primary extractant, and a polar extraction enhancer compound; wherein the extractant composition comprises at least 2 moles of the polar extraction enhancer compound per one mole of primary extractant; and subjecting the ascorbic acid-containing organic extractant composition to a stripping operation with aqueous solution at a temperature of at least 20° C. higher than the temperature at which the conversion is carried out; whereby there is obtained an aqueous solution of ascorbic acid in which the concentration of ascorbic acid is higher than 5%.

    摘要: The invention provides a process for the recovery of a water-soluble carblic or mineral acid having a pKa higher than 2 from an aqueous feed solution containing the acid or a salt thereof, comprising extracting the acid with a water-immiscible extractant composition, the composition comprising: (a) at least one secondary or tertiary aklyl amine, in which the aggregate number of carbon atoms is at least 20, as a primary extractant; and (b) a sterically hindered, polar, organic compound having at least 5 carbon atoms, a basicity weaker than that of the primary extractant, and temperature-sensitive, extraction-modifying properties; separating the acid containing the extractant and subjecting it to a stripping operation at a temperature of at least 20.degree. C. higher than the temperature at which the extraction is carried out, wherein the sterically hindered, polar, organic compound both modifies the extracting power of the primary extractant composition and facilitates the temperature-sensitive stripping operation. The invention also provides an extractant composition for use in such a process.
