Abstract:
The balancing apparatus is designed for determining with accuracy any want of balance of a test-piece to be imparted with rotation about an axis. This test-piece is fitted on a horizontal turntable rotatable about a vertical axis, so that said axes are coextensive. The turntable is journaled on a non-rotary stand having a stationary bed-plate supporting a board subject to vibrations, through a suspension constituted by two slanting planar resilient systems forming a dihedral which is bisected by said vertical axis and whose edge extends along a horizontal line through the center of gravity of the test-piece. Two displacement sensors detect the vibrations of the board at two selected points thereof so as to sense respectively the linear movements of this board parallel to said horizontal line and its pendular movements about said horizontal line.
Abstract:
A switching device for HF energy which includes, at a distance of lambda /4 from the branching point of one path or circuit into two transmission paths, connections to ground by a switching diode. These diodes may be so biased as to establish communication from the first path to one or other of the two other ones, or to two further transmission paths.

AN AROMATIC-HETEROCYCLIC, THERMALLY STABLE, LADDER TYPE POLYMER WHICH CONTAINS, IN ITS HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT MAIN CHAIN, A LINK HAVING DIBENZODIOXINE AS ONE OF ITS CONSTITUENTS. THE INVENTION ALSO RELATES TO A PROCESS OF PREPARING SAID POLYMER AND A PREPOLYMER FORMED DURING SAID PROCESS.
Abstract:
A structure for a three-plate circuit which includes a diode which must be connected to ground by a capacitor, the latter being formed of two capacities each constituted by the metallization of a supporting plate, a small plate made of Mylar and a metal plate. Application to structure in which the diodes are easily removable.
Abstract:
A PROCESS FOR REMOVING SODIUM CHLORIDE CONTAINED IN COMMERCIAL HEXACHLOROPHIC ACID, WITH COMPRISES A HEAT TREATMENT OF THE IMPURE ACID WITH NITRIC ACID, A PRECIPITATION OF A COMPLEX HYDROXIDE OF TETRAVALENT IRIDIUM BY ADDING AMMONIUM HYDROXIDE IN THE PRESENCE OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE AND A HEAT TREATMENT OF THE WASHED PRECIPITATE WITH HYDROCHLORIC ACID IN ORDER TO OBTAIN SUBSTANTIALLY PURE HEXACHLOROIRIDIC ACID.
Abstract:
A device for locating at least one edge of a flexible film and designed to present the film in a specific position and in a natural state of tension with no appreciable elongation. The device comprises a plate against which the edge rests, a pair of rollers adapted to grip the film resiliently and to keep it against the plate and stiffening plates 4 and 5 which are curved for the purpose of increasing the moment of inertia of the film in the locating area. The device may be used in the manufacture of balloons of synthetic material made from flexible films.
Abstract:
A hot-welding process which makes it possible to obtain a weld of any desired depth in each zone of the welded elements. The strip used consists of at least two superimposed thicknesses, one made of a hot-welding material having a fusion temperature of the same order as that of the film, and the other being made of a support material having a higher fusion temperature. The process comprises the steps of heating a section of the strip to a temperature between the fusion temperature of the hot-welding material of which it is made and that of the support material, transferring this section to the film, applying the fusion face of the strip to the film, and simultaneously producing differential cooling of the materials. These operations are then reproduced on an adjacent section of the strip, until the latter has been welded along its entire length.
Abstract:
Directional antenna comprising a cylindrical skirt and a base perpendicular to the skirt axis, and a unipole extending from the base along the axis and out of the skirt. Electrically insulated fixing means extending through an aperture in the base fix the unipole to the base. A coaxial feeder line extends through the skirt and has its inner conductor extending through the insulated fixing means and connected to the unipole through the aperture and its outer conductor connected to the skirt. The unipole has a length of
Abstract:
The processing of an information carried by a frequency with the object of digitizing it is performed along the so-called ''''quasiconstant'''' system used in PFM type telemetric data analysis. Two like but distinct circuits each operating in accordance with the ''''quasi-constant'''' system are used - the recorded information signal and a fresh reference frequency delivered by a clock are respectively applied to the two inputs of one of these circuits, whereas the recorded reference signal and the same fresh reference frequency as above are respectively applied to the two inputs of the other of these circuits.
Abstract:
In order to build up a thin layer coating on a substratum, a target made of a suitable material and located in the vicinity of said substratum is striked under a high vacuum by a beam of ions of high kinetic energy delivered by a duoplasmatron. Several commutable targets may be used for building up multilayer coatings. An intermediate chamber, located at the exit of the duoplasmatron, may be fed with a reacting gas (oxygen, nitrogen, etc.) in order to obtain compound coatings (oxides, nitrides, etc.).
