    摘要: Novel coupling compositions for improving adhesion between an organic elastomer and an inorganic substrate comprise (A) an ethylenically unsaturated silane, having bonded to silicon, at least one hydroxy group and/or alkoxy group reactive with the inorganic substrate and at least one ethylenically unsaturated group polymerizable with the organic elastomeric matrix; (B) an organosiloxane oligomer, having bonded to silicon, at least one hydroxy and/or alkoxy group reactive with said inorganic substrate; and (C) optionally, an ethylenically unsaturated organosiloxane oligomer, having bonded to silicon, at least one ethylenically unsaturated group polymerizable with said organic elastomeric matrix.The novel curable compositions contain the novel coupling compositions, an organic elastomer, an inorganic filler, and a peroxide crosslinking agent. The novel cured compositions are produced by heating the novel curable composition to a temperature above the decomposition temperature of the peroxide thereby inducing crosslinking of the organic elastomer. The novel electrical cable comprises a conductor having a coating of insulation which comprises the novel cured composition.

    摘要: Integrally blended additives, consisting of a ternary mixture of gamma methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane, trimethylolpropane triacrylate and a siloxaneoxyalkylene block copolymer, in the absence of dicumyl peroxide do not consistently improve the mechanical properties of mica filled polyolefins. This is especially true under "low shear" melt processing conditions e.g. employing a conventional screw design in a single barrel extruder. However, when the ternary mixture is combined with a small amount of dicumyl peroxide (neat or dissolved in vinyltrialkoxy silane) there is a consistent improvement in composite mechanical properties above that of the composites containing the ternary mixture alone and in comparison to mica filled polyolefin composites without any additive or composites containing the peroxide alone. Furthermore, thermal aging tensile strength retention is improved in mica filled polypropylene composites containing the ternary mixture combined with dicumyl peroxide.

    摘要: Curable composition comprising a stable, water dispersible, curable polymer containing a sterically hindered alkoxylated silane group at 0.1 to 75 weight percent of the total composition; a water dispersible or water soluble, hydrolytically stable organotin catalyst, at 0.1 to 10 weight percent of the total composition; and water at 99.8 to 24.9 weight percent of the total composition are taught herein. These compositions are useful as adhesives, sealants and paints. The compositions have improved properties including solvent resistance, adhesion, hardness, abrasion resistance and mar resistance. Particular catalysts for use herein include mercaptoalcohol, mercaptide and sulfide forms of diorganotins having either a Sn--S or Sn.dbd.S bond, and include dibutyltin dimercaptide and dibutyltin bis(1-thioglycerol).
