A beam switching antenna method and apparatus for controlling a beam switching antenna system including an antenna element for forming a beam, at least one conductive reflector for reflecting the beam, and a ground switch for applying a reference voltage to the least one conductive reflector, the method including selectively configuring the beam switching antenna system for a current-directional beam pattern to receive a first signal and for a non-directional beam pattern to receive a second signal; comprising the first and second signals; and controlling, using the ground switch; the beam based on the comparison of the first and second switching.

An apparatus and method for allocating a data rate in a multi-antenna system are provided, wherein a noise threshold corresponding to a modulation scheme, a coding rate, or a combination of both applied to a base layer from among a plurality of layers is set as a reference noise threshold, and a data rate is allocated to an enhanced layer among the plurality of layers, based on the reference noise threshold and a use or non-use of hierarchical transmission.

The organic electro-luminescent display according to the present invention includes a luminance control unit including a data sum-up unit to generate a frame data; a look-up table for storing an information corresponding to the light emission control signal to correspond to the frame data; an operator unit to generate a look-up table by using a value at the beginning step of luminance reduction, a value at the final step of luminance reduction, a pulse width of the light emission control signal at the beginning step of luminance reduction, and a pulse width of the light emission control signal at the final step of luminance reduction; and a luminance control signal driver for outputting a luminance control signal using the information corresponding to the light emission control signal stored in the look-up table.

An electrolyte includes a eutectic mixture composed of (a) an alkoxy alkyl group-containing amide compound having a specific chemistry formula; and (b) an ionizable lithium salt. The eutectic mixture contained in the electrolyte has excellent high temperature stability as well as inherent characteristics of eutectic mixtures such as excellent thermal stability and excellent chemical stability, so it contributes to improvement of high temperature stability and decrease the lowest limit of a electrochemical window. Thus, the electrolyte may be usefully applied to electrochemical devices using various anode materials.

An apparatus and method for detecting a signal in a communication system using multiple antennas are provided. The apparatus includes an optimal orderer for determining an order of signals that are subject to detection, a controller for controlling a parallel successive interference canceller so as to successively detect the signals according to the determined signal detection order, cancel the successively detected signals from a received signal, detect the signals in reverse order of the signal detection order, and cancel the successively detected signals from the received signal, and outputting a last detected signal and the parallel successive interference canceller for successively canceling the detected signals from the received signal according to a control of the controller. Accordingly, the invention provides a signal detection apparatus and method that improve the reliability while reducing the complexity of a communication system using multiple antennas.

Provided are a virtual multi-antenna method for an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system and an OFDM-based cellular system. The virtual multi-antenna method includes grouping sub-carriers in a frequency domain of an OFDM symbol and generating at least one group including G sub-carriers; and regarding the G sub-carriers included in the at least one group as multiple channels used in a multi-antenna technique and virtually applying the multi-antenna technique to the transmission and reception of the OFDM symbol. The virtual multi-antenna method can effectively reduce an interference signal and obtain the effects of a spatial division multiple access (SDMA) technique without physically using multiple antennas.

Provided is a duplex printer and method of duplex printing. The duplex printer and method of printing includes a paper feeding belt that is vertically installed to form a first vertical surface; a photosensitive drum that is installed to contact the first vertical surface; and a transfer roller that is installed to contact an other surface of the first vertical surface contacting the photosensitive drum to transfer a toner image from the photosensitive drum onto a sheet of paper, which is supplied between the photosensitive drum and the paper feeding belt. A back surface feeding path of the paper is formed at an opposite side of the photosensitive drum in the paper feeding belt, and the paper is conveyed closely adhered to a surface of the paper feeding belt in the back surface feeding path of the paper.
