Abstract:
There is provided a method for manufacturing a toner capable of providing a toner having excellent low-temperature fixing property and anti-offset property by adjusting a molecular weight distribution of a polymerization toner to a narrow distribution range. The method is characterized in that a toner is polymerized using a reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization (RAFT) method by adding a dithioacetate, xanthate or dithioester-based chain transfer agent in the polymerization of a toner. The method for manufacturing a toner comprises: dissolving a dispersant in water to prepare an aqueous dispersion solution; mixing a binder resin monomer, a charge control agent, a pigment, a wax and a dithioacetate, xanthate or dithioester-based chain transfer agent to prepare a monomer mixture; adding the monomer mixture to the aqueous dispersion solution and suspension-polymerizing the monomer mixture to form a toner composition; removing the dispersant from the toner composition; and drying the dispersant-free toner composition under a vacuum condition.
Abstract:
Provided is a method for transmitting beacon timing information from a transmission node in a wireless Local Area Network (LAN) mesh network. In the method, each of a plurality of nodes transmits a beacon signal with its unique offset within a beacon signal transmission time period and the transmission node periodically transmits beacon timing information including a first unique offset within the beacon signal transmission time period. The transmission node sets a second offset different from the first offset and transmits probe beacon timing information including the first offset and the second offset.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a polar nematic liquid crystal assembly. The liquid crystal assembly comprises 5˜7.5% by weight of a dopant having the structure of Formula 1 below: (wherein X is an alkyl, alkenyl or heteroalkyl group having three or more carbon atoms) and 92.5˜95% by weight of smectic liquid crystal molecules having a linear alkyl chain wherein the N-bonding moiety of the dopant is spontaneously bonded to the alkyl chain of the smectic liquid crystal molecules to induce macroscopic spontaneous polarization in a particular direction.
Abstract:
A power saving method of the present invention is provide for a wireless sensor network including a plurality of sensor nodes each transiting between a power saving mode and a transmit/receive mode, determines whether or not there is no transmit or receive data, enters the power saving mode if there is no transmit or receive data, and controls power consumption on the basis of signal-to-noise ratios in the power saving mode. In the power saving method of the present invention, it is possible to minimize the power consumption regardless of nodes density and without an adverse effect on the connectivity of the network, since the sojourn times of the sleep and idle states are determined adaptive to the interference level from neighboring nodes.
Abstract:
A channel scanning method and system at an MP within a mesh network associated with a local network are provided. A MAP sends a local management frame including information about a mesh network on an allocated local channel and sends a mesh management frame on a mesh channel indicated by the mesh network information. An MP scans a plurality of channels including the local channel and the mesh channel in an order of channels numbers, receives the local management frame by scanning the local channel, and receives the mesh management frame by scanning the mesh channel based on the mesh network information of the local management frame.

A blue electroluminescent polymer comprising diphenylanthracene units in a main chain of polymer and an organic electroluminescence device using the blue electroluminescent polymer, to provide improved luminescent properties.
Abstract:
A light-emitting polymer is represented by the following formula (I): wherein R1, R2 and R3 are selected from the group consisting of linear aliphatic alkyl groups, branched alkyl groups and fluorinated alkyl groups. Light-emitting copolymers formed by copolymerizing units of formula (I) with MEH-PPV (methoxyethylhexyloxy-PPV) are also provided.
Abstract:
An apparatus for measuring distance in the game of golf includes an electro-mechanical DriveGauge.TM. which is provided with a large, easy-to-read display and which registers the player's strides in yards. The apparatus is preferably contained in an attractive housing having a belt clip and the display is mounted "upside down" so that the player may read the display without removing the apparatus from his/her belt. A large prominently colored reset button is preferably provided adjacent to the display so that the display may be quickly and easily reset to zero after a measurement is noted by the player. According to a presently preferred embodiment of the invention, an electromechanical transducer is coupled through a noise filter to a counter which is coupled through a display control and driver to a large four digit LCD display. A clock oscillator is coupled to a system clock unit which provides clock signals for the noise filter and the display control and driver. A stride register is set by a setting unit and provides output to the counter. The noise filter prevents extraneous mechanical vibration of the unit from registering as a player's stride. The LCD display preferably displays up to 999.9 yards in increments of 0.1 yards. In order to set the stride register, the player inputs the distance in feet using the setting unit using a single button which is pressed repeatedly, each press representing 0.1 feet.
Abstract:
A method of detecting a virus having a hemagglutinin-esterase activity in a sample is disclosed, the method includes: contacting the sample with a substrate for an enzyme of hemagglutinin-esterase (HE) of coronavirus or hemagglutinin-esterase fusion protein (HEF) of influenza C virus; and detecting activity of the enzyme, the detection of the activity indicates that the sample contains coronavirus or influenza C virus.
Abstract:
A biosensor for detecting an influenza A virus in a sample is disclosed, which includes: an influenza A virus antibody immobilized on a surface of Au—Fe3O4 composite; where the antibody binds with the influenza A virus in the sample, which converts 4-methylumbelliferyl-N-acetyl-α-D-neuraminic acid (MUNANA) to 4-methylumbelliferone (4-MU), where the 4-MU emits green light at pH of 5.5-6.5; and wherein the 4-MU emits blue light at pH of 9.3-11.3. In the biosensor, 1,1′-oxalyldiimidazole chemiluminescence (ODI-CL) reagent may be utilized to emit the blue and green lights.
