Abstract:
In a color image forming apparatus, an electrostatic latent image based on image data is formed onto a photosensitive body. A toner image of the electrostatic latent image is transferred to an intermediate transfer belt. Final toner images are transferred to a transfer material together. Plural original images are synthesized and written onto the intermediate transfer belt by an image processing unit and a writing unit. A process of this image synthesis is displayed in a display of a display editor. The image processing unit and a main control panel write the synthesized images in accordance with a synthetic condition. The toner images finally formed on the intermediate transfer belt are transferred to the transfer material together. Accordingly, the images can be synthesized accurately and the color image forming apparatus can be simply constructed and can be cheaply manufactured. Color image forming methods are also shown.
Abstract:
There is provided by the present invention an image forming apparatus including a one-chip microcomputer having white reference data for a first sheet of copy fetched with shading gate arrays in a stable region for a halogen lamp, using said white reference data when forming an image for a first sheet of copy, and also having shading-corrected white data fetched for a second or subsequent sheet of copy each time an image is formed.
Abstract:
An image reading device capable of preventing, by increasing the quantity of light at the center or bound portion of a spread book document, the quantity of light from becoming short and preventing density from becoming irregular due to the deviation of a focus. At and around the center of a spread book document where the document is bound, the quantity of light for illumination or the amplification gain of image data read from the document is increased. A plurality of fluorescent lamps illuminate the surface of the document at the upstream side and downstream side with respect to an intended scanning direction. When the edge of the document is to be detected, only one of the lamps is turned on to enhance the stripe pattern representative of the stepped edge portion of the document.
Abstract:
A multistage paper feeding/conveying apparatus has a plurality of recording paper storing devices vertically arranged at multiple stages; a paper feeder for feeding a sheet of recording paper one by one from arbitrary one of the recording paper storing devices; and a vertical conveyer vertically extending and opposed to a paper feeding side of each of the recording paper storing devices. The vertical conveyer conveys the sheet of recording paper fed from the paper feeder to a paper receiving section of an image forming apparatus. The paper feeder has a single paper feeding unit which can selectively come in contact with a front end portion of an uppermost sheet of recording paper on an upper face thereof with respect to sheets of recording paper stored within the plural recording paper storing devices. The paper feeding unit and the vertical conveyer have a single endless conveying belt and a device for forming an electric charge pattern for adsorbing the sheet of recording paper to the endless belt. A method for feeding the recording paper is also shown.
Abstract:
A color recording apparatus has an electric charge carrier which is circulatingly movable, an electrostatic latent image forming unit for forming a latent image which corresponds to an original image on the carrier, a development unit for developing the latent image; a transfer unit for transferring the developed image formed on the carrier to a record paper in a transfer process, a conveyor for conveying the record paper forward and backward with respect to the transfer unit, and a control unit which repeats control operations for controlling the latent image forming unit to form a latent image on the carrier, for controlling the development unit to develop the latent image, for controlling the conveyor to convey the record paper forward, for controlling the transfer unit to transfer the developed image to the record paper, and for controlling the conveyor to convey the record paper backward at least for one time. The control unit controls the conveyor prior to the transfer process so that the record paper is positioned at a point which is a predetermined distance before a transfer point and that a forward movement of the record paper is started on the basis of an information signal which is output in response to a state of starting an electrostatic latent image forming operation each time the transfer process is carried out.
Abstract:
A method for turning over a page of a book-type original using a belt as a device for turning over the page. The original is set with spread pages arranged upward. The method includes the steps of disposing the belt over spread pages of the original so that the belt comes in contact with a surface of the spread pages, attracting one of the spread pages of the original to the belt by an attracting devices, and deforming a part of the belt upward at a portion of the belt continuously along the surface of the spread pages while moving the portion from one end of the page to the other end thereof so that the page attracted to the belt is separated from a next page of the original.
Abstract:
An image reader capable of determining whether or not a book document to be copied needs royalty by the recognition of a book document and counting operation of a copying system. When a book document to be copied needs royalty, the number of times that images of the document are scanned or the number of times that the resulting image data are outputted is counted. While the count is stored, the royalty of the book document copied is managed on the basis of the count. The image reader can also read a ID code formed on the book, and can control the counting operation based on the detected book ID.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus has an image scanner, a sensor for determining that the image sensor has scanned the front edge of a document, and a controller using main scanning line synchronizing signals and an output signal of the sensor as reference signals. In response to the reference signals, the controller causes at least a writing unit to start writing each image data of particular color and causes a transfer medium driving circuit to start driving a transfer medium. The apparatus allows image components of different colors to be transferred to the transfer medium one above the other in accurate registration.

Abstract:
An image forming apparatus has a plurality of developing containers for developing an electrostatic latent image of a latent image carrier by toners having colors different from each other except for black; a black developing container for color for storing black toner for color and operated when the developed image on the latent image carrier every color is overlapped and transferred onto a transfer material to provide a color image; a black developing container for a monochromatic image for storing black toner for a monochromatic image and operated when the monochromatic image is obtained; and a device for arranging the respective developing containers such that the developing containers are opposite to the latent image carrier. The other image forming apparatuses are also shown.
