Abstract:
A method of controlling a display device selectively displaying one of a first signal received from a first signal source and a second signal received from a second signal source is provided. The method includes the steps of: displaying the second signal; detecting whether the first signal is received; and displaying the first signal when the first signal is received by the display device.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for determining long binary sequences having low autocorrelation functions using evolutionary processes are disclosed. Biphase sequences are found with low peak sidelobe values meeting a predetermined criterion, e.g., threshold low auto-correlation function, including application of semidefinite programming in connection with determining an initial population, and evolving the population with an evolutionary algorithm to bits of the biphase sequences including bit flipping. The found biphase sequences can be communicated to a variety of applications, including wireless communications technologies.
Abstract:
Spectrum sensing in wireless communications is provided to identify utilized and/or unutilized frequency bands reserved for primary users using a cyclostationary beamforming approach. An adaptive cross self-coherent restoral (ACS) algorithm can be utilized to extract signals of interest (SOI) at unique cycle frequencies related to primary and/or secondary users from an antenna array measurement. Based on the SOI, one or more users of the spectrum can be identified or the spectrum can be regarded as vacant; this can be based on lobe identification in the frequency spectrum of the SOI, in one example. This mechanism is less complex than traditional cyclic spectrum analysis methods. The cyclostationary beamforming based approach is more effective than the energy detection method. Also, the need for quiet periods in spectrum sensing is eliminated when using this mechanism such that signals can be transmitted simultaneously with receiving signals over the antenna array.
Abstract:
An exemplary backlight module includes a light guide plate (12), an illuminator (14), and a frame (16) receiving the light guide plate and the illuminator. The light guide plate includes a light incident surface (122) and has a cutout defined in a corner thereof at one end of the light incident surface. The illuminator is located adjacent to the light incident surface. The frame includes a stopper (166) engagingly received in the cutout such that the stopper blocks movement of the light guide plate toward the illuminator.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an extension of a partial application of the previous invention (P.R.C. Pat. Application No. 201110357015.X) that overcomes the issues of the previous invention requiring a too long curing time of the accelerator, curing agent and diluent after they are mixed with epoxy resin, polyurethane resin, polyurea resin and polyisocyanate resin at the conditions of low temperature and high humidity and producing amine blushing, amine blooming or treaded surface phenomenon. The present invention reduces the curing time and overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks of the resins effectively.

Abstract:
An electric motor, especially a brushless PMDC motor, has a stator and a rotor rotatably installed inside of the stator. The stator has a housing with an open end, an end cap fixed to the open end of the housing, a stator core fixed to an inner surface of the housing, and windings wound on the stator core. The rotor includes a plurality of permanent magnetic poles. The housing has a flange bent inwardly from the open end of the housing and abutting against the end cap inwardly and axially to thereby fix the end cap to the housing. The length of the flange measured along the circumferential direction of the housing is greater than half of that of the housing.

Abstract:
Methods for preparing a composition containing amorphous iron oxide hydroxide. Methods for regeneration of the amorphous iron oxide hydroxide after it has been used as desulfurizer. Regenerable desulfurizer with high sulfur capacity containing amorphous iron oxide hydroxide, not less than 88% w/w, and organic binder not less than 7% w/w. The organic binder is sodium carboxymethylcellulose, sesbania powder, cellulose powder, or a mixture thereof. A method for preparing the desulfurizer. A method for regenerating the waste agent produced after the desulfurizer and the composition containing the desulfurizer are used as desulfurizer. This method allows the desulfurizer and the composition containing the desulfurizer to be regenerated and reused avoiding the need for landfill disposal and environmental pollution.
Abstract:
Methods for regenerating amorphous iron oxide hydroxide after being used as desulfurizer by (1) grinding a waste mixture into waste powder, wherein the waste mixture results from use of the composition comprising amorphous iron oxide hydroxide as desulfurizer; (2) preparing the waste powder into a suspension and charging the suspension with a gas containing oxygen to obtain a slurry comprising amorphous iron oxide hydroxide and elemental sulfur; and (3) placing the slurry or a solid resulting from filtering the slurry into a container and charging the slurry or the solid with air so that the elemental sulfur floats and the amorphous iron oxide hydroxide precipitates.
