摘要: A process for separating one or more one-ring cycloparaffins and one or more multi-ring cycloparaffins from a hydrocarbon mixture is disclosed. The process comprises the steps of providing the hydrocarbon mixture; and contacting the hydrocarbon mixture with an adsorbent material comprising a metal organic framework to separate the one or more one-ring cycloparaffins and the one or more multi-ring cycloparaffins from the hydrocarbon mixture. The process is conducted in a liquid phase.

摘要: A solvent extraction process for removing poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from a PFAS laden adsorbent is disclosed. The process comprises introducing a substantially pure solvent at an elevated temperature to a bed of the PFAS laden adsorbent and continuously removing PFAS laden solvent from the adsorbent, wherein the introducing and removing are carried out simultaneously and continuously until a desired amount of PFAS is removed from the adsorbent. Also disclosed is a process for degrading poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) to environmentally benign products. The process comprises providing an aqueous solution containing PFAS at a concentration of greater than 50 ppm; and subjecting the aqueous solution to ultrasound using at least one ultrasonic transducer at a frequency and power and for a time sufficient to degrade substantially all of the PFAS in the solution to carbon dioxide and fluoride.

摘要: Herein disclosed are compositions, methods, and systems useful for treating PFAS- contaminated adsorbents to simultaneously achieve mineralization of adsorbed per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances and regenerate the adsorbent materials to enable re-use of the materials. This is accomplished by applying subcritical hydrothermal reaction conditions together with solution amendments to promote PFAS destruction while minimizing alterations of the adsorbent materials. The process requires much lower energy input than existing thermal disposal or regeneration technologies. The milder liquid phase treatment conditions allow for treatment and regeneration of a wider range of adsorbent materials being deployed for PFAS treatment.

摘要: A method of treating a metal carbonate salt includes hydrolyzing a metal halide salt to form a hydrohalic acid and a hydroxide salt of the metal in the metal halide salt. The metal includes an alkaline earth metal or an alkali metal. The method includes reacting the hydrohalic acid with the metal carbonate salt, wherein the metal carbonate salt is a carbonate salt of the alkaline earth metal or alkali metal, to form CO2 and the metal halide salt. At least some of the metal halide salt formed from the reacting of the hydrohalic acid with the metal carbonate salt is recycled as at least some of the metal halide salt in the hydrolyzing of the metal halide salt to form the hydrohalic acid and the hydroxide salt.

摘要: This disclosure generally relates to at least one reusable module of a sorbent cartridge in a sorbent dialysis system and a method of using the same. One of the drawbacks of a conventional sorbent dialysis system is the high cost. In one aspect of the invention, the sorbent cartridge contains at least one module for optionally recharging sorbent materials in-line with an optional bypass and conduits for the sorbent cartridge. The sorbent cartridge can have two or more modules that are connected to one another through connectors. The modules can be reusable and the sorbent materials contained in the modules can be recharged.
