The present invention discloses a method for manufacturing a fringe field switching mode liquid crystal display device. Here, a counter electrode, gate bus line and common electrode line are formed by one photolithography process including: a first process for coating a resist film on the MoW film; a second process for forming a resist pattern consisting of first and second patterns respectively covering gate bus line and common electrode line formation regions and maintaining a coating thickness, and a third pattern covering a counter electrode formation region and partially maintaining the coating thickness, by exposing/developing the resist film; a third process for forming the gate bus line and the common electrode line by dry-etching the MoW film using the resist pattern as an etch barrier, the first and second patterns being partially removed, the third pattern being completely removed, the MoW film on the counter electrode formation region being partially removed; a fourth process for forming the counter electrode by wet-etching the ITO film using the remained resist pattern and MoW film as an etch barrier; and a fifth process for removing the remained resist pattern and MoW film.

A method of fabricating a thin film transistor includes the steps of forming an active layer on an insulating substrate; forming an insulating layer and a first metal layer on the active layer; forming a photoresist pattern for forming a gate electrode on the metal layer; etching the metal layer and the insulating layer by using the photoresist pattern as a mask, and respectively forming a gate electrode and a gate insulating layer to expose a part of the active layer; forming an amorphous silicon layer on the resultant whole surface substrate; forming a second metal layer on the amorphous silicon layer; patterning the second metal layer and the amorphous silicon layer by a photolithographic process to form an offset layer and a source/drain electrode; and carrying out a lift-off process to remove the photoresist pattern, and exposing the surface on the gate electrode.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a TFT which can improve realibility by planarizing the surface of a polysilicon layer as a channel layer, is disclosed. According to the present invention, an amorphous silicon layer is formed on an insulating layer substrate and crystallized by excimer layer annealing process, to form a polysilicon layer. Next, the surface of the polysilicon layer is oxidized to form an oxide layer. At this time the sufrace of the polsyilicon under the oxide layer become smooth. Preferably, the oxide layer is formed by oxiation process using ECR (Electron Cyclon Resonator) plasma or using one selected from the group consisting of O2, O2N2, O2N2O, O2NH3 and NO. Thereafter, the oxide layer is removed to expose the polysilicon layer and then a gate insulating layer is formed on the exposed polysilicon layer. Preferably, the gate insulating layer is formed to one selected from the group consisting of a SiO2 layer, a SiN layer, a SiON layer and a TEOS oxide layer. The gate insulating layer is formed by ECR plasma oxidiation process or ECR PECVD.

An LCD device and a manufacturing method thereof having improved transmittance and contrast ratio are disclosed.According to the LCD device and the manufacturing method thereof, a first common electrode which includes first and second horizontal electrode bars and a plurality of first vertical common electrode bars is disposed on a layer different from a second common electrode which includes a third horizontal common electrode bar and a plurality of second vertical common electrode bars. A pixel electrode which includes a horizontal pixel electrode bar and a plurality of vertical pixel electrode bars is disposed on the same layer as the second common electrode. The second common electrode is connected to the first common electrode.

A method for generating an interrupt signal in a memory controller and supporting a multi-processor is provided. Whether an access for a determined memory region occurs is determined. When the access for the determined memory region occurs, whether the access for the determined memory region has a right is determined. When the access for the determined memory region has the right, a core that will generate an interrupt signal is determined. The determined core is requested to generate the interrupt signal.

A transparent display device for enhancing optical transmissivity in a transparent mode, is discussed. The transparent display device may include a liquid crystal panel; a light source disposed at one side of a lower portion of the liquid crystal panel to emit light; a first polarizing plate for polarizing the light emitted from the light source; a light guide plate disposed at a lower portion of the liquid crystal panel to totally reflect the light polarized to an axis by the first polarizing plate to a lateral surface thereof and supply to the liquid crystal panel, and transmit natural light entered from a lower direction therethrough; and a second polarizing plate disposed at an upper portion of the liquid crystal panel to control the amount of polarized light passing through the liquid crystal panel.

Disclosed is a fringe field switching liquid crystal display, which prevents disclination lines from being created at a wedge section and improves liquid crystal polarization efficiency of a pixel electrode. The fringe field switching liquid crystal display comprises upper and lower substrates arranged while forming a space between them, a conductive black matrix formed on a lower surface of the upper substrate, a common electrode formed on an upper surface of the lower substrate, a gate insulation layer formed on an upper surface of the common electrode, and a pixel electrode formed on an upper surface of the gate insulation layer. Herein, the pixel electrode forms an electric field and includes a fringe portion having a saw-tooth shape, which forms one of 1-domain and 2-domain among the pixel electrode, the conductive black matrix, and the common electrode.

An apparatus and method are provided for determining transmitter identification information (TII) in terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (T-DMB) system. The TII is detected by determining whether the TII occurs during the slot for a null symbol. The detected TII is stored into a TII database preferably continuously until a point of time for a TII update, and a TII detection result is output at the point of time for the TII update.

A method for operating a voice function of a dual-mode mobile communication apparatus including a speaker's voice recognition function and a voice output function of stored information while the mobile communication apparatus is operating in an analog mode is disclosed. The method comprises the step of determining whether a voice function request signal is input or not, switching a vocoder into a digital mode for operating the voice function, and operating the voice function in digital mode.
