Abstract:
The invention relates to agents and processes for detecting bacteria of the genus Listeria, in particular L. monocytogenes. The agents according to the invention include primers whose sequence is selected from the iap gene of L. monocytogenes. In addition, the agents according to the invention include peptides whose sequence is selected from the p60 protein and which are suitable for producing specific antibodies for the immunological detection of L. monocytogenes.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a measured value acquisition and processing unit (5) that facilitates the acquisition and processing of very small measuring signals in the range of interfering signals, such as, for example, noise, spillovers, etc. This means that the useful values to be detected usually contain interfering portions. The inventive measured value acquisition and processing unit (5) separately acquires these interfering portions by means of a switch element (10) disposed in the area of feed of the measured signals by means of which the measuring circuit is short-circuited in such a manner that the measured signal is not coupled in but only interfering signals that might occur in the measuring circuit are detected. The inventive method provides a large range of dynamic ratio for the detection of measured values at low costs.
Abstract:
The use of zwitterionic compounds as mold release agents in thermoplastics is disclosed. Molding compositions having good release properties, preferably compositions containing polycarbonate resins are thus disclosed.
Abstract:
A process for the quantitative immunological determination of an enzyme in a liquid, comprises incubating anti-enzyme antibodies which are adsorbed on a water-insoluble carrier, with the sample solution containing the enzyme, whereby the enzyme bonds to the antibodies but retains a reproducible proportion of its activity in its complex with the antibodies; removing the sample solution; washing the antibody carrier, which is charged with enzyme; and determining the activity of the enzyme bonded to the antibodies.
Abstract:
A protective device is disclosed for combination with an electrical switching device including a main current line or for integration in such a switching device. In at least one embodiment, the protective device includes a switching element and a switching apparatus, which is provided for the actuation of the switching element and is influenced by a current flow through the main current line. In at least one embodiment, in order to influence the switching apparatus, a current transformer is integrated in the main current line and an electrical resistance of a secondary winding surrounded by the current transformer can be measured. A method for operating a protective device is also disclosed wherein the switching apparatus is triggered so as to actuate the switching element if the measured resistance reaches or exceeds a predetermined or predeterminable threshold value.
Abstract:
In one embodiment of the present invention, a rotary encoding switch is disclosed such as used in the function setting for relays or similar. In one embodiment, a particularly secure function setting for relays or similar may be achieved by means of a rotary encoding switch with a number of switch stages with separations between the switch stages which are not constant.
Abstract:
An agent suitable for imparting antistatic properties to plastics is disclosed. The incorporation of small amounts of perfluoroalkylsulfonic acid salt in plastic resins, notably thermoplastic resins was found to be effective for this purpose.
Abstract:
The invention relates to agents and methods for the immunological detection of bacteria of the genus Salmonella. The agents according to the invention include peptides whose sequence is selected from the PagC protein, and which are suitable for producing specific antibodies for the immunological detection of salmonellae.
Abstract:
A monitoring device having a switching mechanism to open or close electric circuits in case of overload which operates as a function of a current-detecting device includes a processor and setpoint memories for comparing and evaluating actual values. A device for detecting additional load operational errors, statistical operating data, and maintenance instructions from at least the load current over the lifetime of the device and providing a run display to display this data are consecutively integrated into the monitoring device. Furthermore, input keys are provided for setting desired parameters, which can be displayed in the run display.
Abstract:
Samples of fine dusts in air or gases are collected for analysis and measurement by atomic absorption or atomic fluorescence by conducting the air or gases across a surface of a sample container and causing the dust to be deposited electrostatically on the said surface. The sample container is then heated to a temperature sufficient to vaporize the particles of dust, and the vaporized particles are then brought into the beam path of an atomic absorption or atomic fluorescence spectrometer.
