    摘要: A top emission type organic light emitting display includes an organic light emitting diode in which an anode, a light emitting layer and a transparent cathode are successively deposited. The cathode has a sandwiched structure in which a transparent oxide layer is inserted between the metal layers. Exemplary embodiments of the cathode of the present invention have better electric conductivity than a conventional cathode of an organic light emitting diode device, and thus has lower power consumption than a conventional top emission organic light emitting display with similar light transmission.

The FED includes: a rear substrate; a cathode electrode on the upper surface of the rear substrate; at least one group of emitters emitting electron beams and arranged in a vertical row on the upper surface of the cathode electrode; a gate electrode placed on the upper surface of the cathode electrode to extract electrons from the emitters and having horizontal first openings respectively corresponding to the emitters; a first insulating layer interposed between the gate electrode and the cathode electrode; a focus electrode placed on the upper surface of the gate electrode and having a vertical second opening portion connected to the first opening portions of the corresponding group of emitters; a second insulating layer interposed between the focus electrode and the gate electrode; a front substrate disposed a predetermined distance above the rear substrate with an anode electrode on the lower surface thereof; and a fluorescent pattern formed on the lower surface of the anode electrode, emitting light when collided of the electron beams; with the gate electrode and the focus electrode forming a quadrupole lens structure.

    摘要: An organic electroluminescent display (“OELD”) includes an organic light-emitting diode (“OLED”) panel and a driving panel. The OLED panel includes an image display portion which displays an image using an OLED, and the driving panel includes a driving circuit portion which controls the image display portion. The OLED panel and the driving panel are combined into one body to complete the OELD. The image display portion and the driving circuit portion are electrically connected through pads disposed between the OLED panel and the driving panel, and the OLED panel and the driving panel are fabricated using separate processes, thus preventing the driving panel from being damaged by heat generated in the fabrication process of the OLED panel.

The emitter being made of metallic carbon nanotubes extending in a direction that is normal to a surface of the cathode. The carbon nanotubes are designed so that electrons therein can experience a ballistic effect where the mean free path between collisions is as large or larger than a length of the carbon nanotube and that the width of the carbon nanotube being a fermi wavelength. On an opposite end of the carbon nanotubes is a thin metal electrode layer and a thin insulating layer to protect the carbon nanotubes from damage.

    摘要: A field emission display includes a first substrate. At least one gate electrode is formed in a predetermined pattern on the first substrate. A plurality of cathode electrodes is formed on the first substrate in a predetermined pattern. At least one first insulation layer is formed between the at least one gate electrode and the plurality of cathode electrodes. Emitters are mounted within openings of the cathode electrodes formed in the cathode electrodes. A second insulation layer having a plurality of channels is formed on the cathode electrodes such that the emitters are positioned within the channels. At least one focusing electrode is formed on the second insulation layer. A second substrate is provided opposing the first substrate with a predetermined gap therebetween. At least one anode electrode is formed on a surface of the second substrate opposing the first substrate. Phosphor layers are formed on the anode electrode in a predetermined pattern.

    摘要: An organic light emitting display and a manufacturing method thereof include an improved encapsulation layer. The encapsulation layer of the organic light emitting display includes an organic layer uniformly covering bank portions and light emitting areas on a substrate; and an inorganic layer formed thicker on the light emitting areas than on the bank portions. In the organic light emitting display, the inorganic layer is thick on the light emitting area in which a sealing ability is required and the bank portion is thin in order to provide flexibility. Therefore, the encapsulation layer can be formed more easily compared to an encapsulation layer on a device in which the organic layer and inorganic layer are alternately formed at least 10 times.
