摘要: A diagnostic mechanism for processing diagnostic data transferred from a host computer (e.g., a motor vehicle computer) to a portable computer (e.g., a personal digital assistant (PDA), cellular phone, etc.) An alert is provided based on a comparison in the portable computer of a threshold variable (e.g., generated from a desired threshold value input into the portable computer by the user) and a diagnostic variable (e.g., fuel remaining, service interval, etc.) generated from the diagnostic data. Preferably, the alert includes a calendar entry displayed on a PDA. The alert may further include an alarm at a time-of-day preceding an alarm clock setting of the PDA. Consequently, the user does not have to rely on his/her memory to arise earlier in the morning to fill up with gasoline, for example. Preferably, the PDA receives the diagnostic data in response to being placed in a cradle mounted in a vehicle passenger compartment.

摘要: A radiation diaphragm has an arrangement for introducing at least one radiation filter into the beam path of a radiation bundle emanating from a radiation transmitter. A light transmitter is provided for creating a light beam which optically represents the area of the radiation beam. A filter identifier is provided in the diaphragm housing for changing the color of the light beam dependent on whether a radiation filter is located in the radiation beam path. Based on the color of the light beam incident on the examination subject, it is possible to determine whether a radiation filter is located in the radiation beam path, and if so, which filter.

摘要: A capillary made of plastics material that is suited for use in capillary electrophoresis. The capillary has its inner surface chemically modified for the generation of properties different from those of the original plastic capillary material. In the process of producing such capillaries, a premanufactured capillary is treated with a chemical reagent which generates functional groups directly on the capillary surface or generates attachment sites, on the capillary surface to which functional groups are later bonded.

摘要: A receptacle (3, 13) for an anti-scatter grid (4) and the anti-scatter grid (4) of a catapult grid drawer (1) are constructed such that the anti-scatter grid (4) is held in the receptacle (3, 13) only in a predetermined orientation. In accordance with one variant, guides (5, 6) of the receptacle (3) cooperate with edges (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) of the anti-scatter grid (4) so that together they form a key and slot connection. In accordance with a further variant of the invention, e.g. the anti-scatter grid (4) is provided with a machine-readable code (14). A reader (15) for the code (14) as well as a lock (19) controlled by a signal from the reader (15) are provided in the region of the receptacle (13). The lock (19) releases the access to the receptacle (13) only if the predetermined orientation between the grid (4) and the receptacle (13) exists.

摘要: In an x-ray diagnostics apparatus having a scattered radiation grid moveable in a plane, the movement of the scattered radiation grid ensues via a tumbling or wobble bearing arranged between a rotating drive and the scattered radiation grid. An advantage of this arrangement is that relatively long standstill times during the reversal of the grid movement are reduced. Moreover, the tumbling or wobble bearing can be economically manufactured and is less structurally complicated than a lever articulation.

摘要: In an X-ray installation comprising an X-ray source, a patient support, an X-ray detector and an electronic evaluation system, a distance is determined from an extremity of a patient which is to be imaged to the X-ray detector and is made available as an electronic data value to the electronic evaluation system. If the distance from the X-ray source to the X-ray detector as an electronic data value is also known, then a scale can be calculated for the X-ray image from the two distances on the basis of the imaging laws for the generation of the X-ray image, which scale can be faded into the X-ray image or else electronically assigned to this image for an interrogation of coordinates.

摘要: An X-ray apparatus has a radiation source, an interchangeable radiation filter and an area dose measuring device having a measurement chamber with an allocated evaluation device for determining the area dose product on the basis of a measured signal provided by the measurement chamber. The measurement chamber is arranged preceding the filter in the beam path with reference to the radiation propagation direction. A detector recognizes the nature and/or the type of radiation filter that is currently inserted in the beam path. The evaluation device corrects the area dose product that is calculated from the measured signal from the measurement chamber on the basis of at least one filter-specific correction value that is selected as a result of the detection of the filter nature and/or type.
