摘要: A display system of the present invention for a vehicle includes plural speed display areas which are capable of being simultaneously displayed, such as a first speed display area and a second speed display area, and a display controlling section causing predetermined one of speed display areas to display speed and for causing other one or more of speed display areas to display information other than speed according to necessity. This allows decrease in false recognition of the speed. With this, a display system for a vehicle can be provided, the display system being able to improve safety of driving by a user by getting rid of false recognition of speed, which is important information for safe driving.

摘要: A liquid crystal display device (100) includes mean value computing sections (9a, 9b) and an optical intensity regulation section (11). The mean value computing section (9a) outputs a mean luminance level (A1) for the pixels forming an image display produced in a driver seat display area (2). The mean value computing section (9b) outputs a mean luminance level (A2) for the pixels forming an image display produced in a front passenger seat display area (3). The optical intensity regulation section (11) controls (regulates) the output optical intensity of backlights (4a, 4b) according to the mean luminance level (A1) and the mean luminance level (A2). As a result, the luminance of the image display in the front passenger seat display area (3) is further limited than the luminance of the image display in the driver seat display area (2). The control ensures high visibility of image displays for the driver.

摘要: In a video processing method, plural pieces of digital data such as video and audio data are inputted together with an instruction signal indicating whether or not the plural pieces of digital data are to be multiplexed, and the plural pieces of digital data are multiplexed when the instruction signal indicates that the digital data are to be multiplexed. The multiplexed digital data are then outputted together with a flag indicating whether or not the digital data are multiplexed. Therefore, when video and audio data are not multiplexed or when there is a scene description for handling plural pieces of video data, the video and audio data can be recorded or transmitted in a like manner as multiplexed data.

摘要: A reservation processing apparatus. A data receiving section receives broadcast data including mainview data and preview data. The preview data represents information of next mainview data. A preview data record section records the preview data received by the data receiving section. A reservation list management section extracts the information of next mainview data from the preview data and stores the information as a reservation list. A reservation item execution section records the next mainview data according to the reservation list when the data receiving section receives the next mainview data transmitted.

摘要: A hierarchical coding apparatus comprising first and second compressive coding units for subjecting high- and low-resolution digital image signals to hierarchical coding to generate high- and low-resolution coded data, and a resolution conversion circuit for subjecting a portion of low-resolution decoded image signal obtained by decoding the low-resolution coded data to resolution conversion, wherein only the resolution converted image signal is used as a reference signal for a low resolution side in coding the high-resolution digital image signal, thereby making the reduction of compression efficiency of image data, which is transmitted or stored, less, and simplifying the configuration of the hierarchical coding apparatus.

摘要: The multicast communication scheme which can enable a user to easily comprehend the multicast groups existing on the network, easily carry out an operation to join a desired multicast group, and easily specify a desired communication quality. At each user terminal, a virtual space with a plurality of regions defined therein in correspondence to a plurality of multicast groups is displayed on a screen, while an information indicating a range of each region in the virtual space is stored in correspondence to an address information for a corresponding multicast group. A desired position in the virtual space on the screen is specified by an input device, and joining/leaving to/from multicast groups is controlled by using the address information stored in correspondence to a region in the virtual space which contains the desired position. The display on the screen may include a plurality of zones defined within each region in correspondence to a plurality of different communication qualities, so that a communication quality of a multicast communication to be received can be controlled according to a zone within a region in the virtual space which contains the desired position.
