    摘要: A sheet or web material for use in developing and fixing toner images which comprises a support and a thermo-adhesive fixing layer defining the surface of the material on which the toner image is deposited. The thermo-adhesive fixing layer comprises an organic polymeric material and has the following properties: a surface resistance above 10.sup.10 Ohm/square, freedom from blocking at least up to 35.degree. C, a melt viscosity at 190.degree. C of not more than 120 P, and an abrasion resistance at 20.degree. C above 175 g.The process for fixing a toner image on this sheet or web material comprises the steps of image-wise depositing on said thermo-adhesive fixing layer toner particles forming with the molten thermo-adhesive fixing layer a contact angle smaller than 90.degree., heating above 90.degree. C at least those parts of such layer corresponding with the toner images, said heating being of a sufficient intensity and duration that said particles sink within the softened fixing layer, and allowing said imaged layer to cool to fix said image particles in said layer.

    摘要: A liquid developer composition for rendering visible electrostatically charged areas. The composition contains in an electrically insulating non-polar carrier liquid having a volume resistivity of at least 10.sup.9 ohm.cm and a dielectric constant less than 3, dispersed coloring matter acting as toner particles and at least one onium salt polymer including recurring units incorporating an onium group together with an anion. The anion has at least one of the following characteristics:(1) contains a negatively charged atom or group of atoms which is sterically embraced by at least two non-ionic substituents containing at least 4 C atoms;(2) contains a negatively charged atom which is sterically embraced by at least 4 atoms selected from the group consisting of oxygen and halogen;(3) contains a negatively charged atom or group of atoms the negative charge of which is delocalized over other atoms linked to said atom or group of atoms;(4) is a radical anion,whereby the onium salt polymer is adsorbed with a net positive charge on the toner particles. An illustrative onium salt polymer species is a copolymer of isobutyl methacrylate, stearyl methacrylate and dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate that has been quaternized with methyl iodide and of which the iodide anions have been replaced by tetraphenyl boride anions.

    摘要: Abrasion marks by dry-friction and the tendency of producing pressure-scratches in photographic materials is reduced by incorporating in the gelatin silver halide emulsion layers polymeric compounds containing recurring units with semicarbazone or alkoxy carbonyl hydrazone groups in the side-chains.     摘要: A radiation-sensitive material is described that comprises a hydrophilic colloid layer containing a dispersed phase of at least one radiation sensitive polymer the polymer chain of which comprises units with side substituents containing oxime ester groups. Upon imagewise exposure to actinic radiation the polymer in the exposed areas reduces the permeability of the hydrophilic colloid layer for an etchant in the absence of any ethylenically unsaturated monomer. The layer having upon image-wise exposure to radiation image-wise differentiations in permeability for an etchant can be used as etch-resist, without needing a washing away step, to modify image-wise the surface of an element e.g. to produce printed circuits or printing forms.
