Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of the developing devices for developing the latent image formed on an image bearing member. The plural developing devices are each movable between its developing position for developing the latent image on the image bearing member and its retracted position away from the image bearing member. The image forming apparatus includes a shutter for selectively opening and closing the developing aperture of the developing device of one of the developing devices. The shutter opens and closes the developing aperture of said one of the developing devices in association with movement of the other developing device between the developing position and the retracted position.
Abstract:
A recycling method of an apparatus having a part includes a collecting step of collecting a part from the apparatus; a processing step of processing the collected part to adapt it to an apparatus having different specifications; and a mounting step of mounting the part processed in the processing step on the apparatus.
Abstract:
A method of producing an ocular lens, comprising the steps of: (a) preparing a lens blank which gives an ocular lens, the lens blank having a concave back surface and a convex front surface, at least a portion of the front surface being tapered to give a tapered surface; (b) forming a back curved surface of the ocular lens by effecting a cutting operation on the concave back surface of the lens blank, while the lens blank is supported on a spindle of a back surface cutting device such that the tapered surface of the lens blank is drawn onto a tapered holding surface of the spindle under a negative pressure applied to the lens blank, the tapered holding surface following a profile of the tapered surface of the lens blank; and (c) forming a front curved surface of the ocular lens by effecting a cutting operation on the front surface of the lens blank whose back surface has been cut to form the back curved surface, while the lens blank is supported on a spindle of a front surface cutting device such that the back curved surface of the lens blank is drawn onto a holding surface of the spindle of the front surface cutting device under a negative pressure applied to the lens blank.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus such as a copying apparatus and a laser beam printer, is capable of forming a superimposed image or duplex image on one sheet. The sheet which has been once subjected to the image forming operation and which is going to be subjected to another image forming operation is reintroduced into the image forming station selectively through a flow-through sheet passage or through an intermediate tray on which the transfer sheets are once stacked. A displaceable flapper is provided to direct the sheet selectively to the flow-through passage or to the intermediate tray.
Abstract:
A recycling method in an apparatus having a part includes a part removal step of removing a part from the apparatus, and a mounting step of mounting to the apparatus a part having a specification different from that of the removed part.
Abstract:
A jig adapted to hold a contact lens material having a concave surface, for holding the contact lens material, including a protruding portion which has a top end having as an outer surface thereof a convex surface. This convex surface of the jig is bonded to the concave surface of the contact lens material. The protruding portion has a recess which extends from an inner surface of the top end toward a bottom end of the protruding portion. The recess is defined by an inner surface which includes a first portion that corresponds to the convex surface of the top end of the protruding portion. At least the first portion of the inner surface is toughened with a light-scattering texture. A method of holding the contact lens material while the contact lens material is processed into a contact lens is disclosed.
Abstract:
A contact lens cleaning device comprising a ball, a vessel formed with a recessed chamber for housing the lens and the ball, and a vibrator for vibrating the vessel. The chamber has a bottom concave surface so curved that the lens is mounted in face-to-face contact thereon. After the lens is sandwiched between the bottom concave surface of the chamber, the ball is cleaned when the vessel is vibrated by the vibrator.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming station for conveying a sheet material along a lateral reference position and for forming an image on the sheet material; refeeding device for refeeding to the image forming station the sheet material on which the image has been formed in the image forming station; means, provided in the sheet refeeding means, for shifting the sheet material in the lateral direction from the lateral reference position by a predetermined amount, wherein the amount of the shift is predetermined on the basis of a change in a lateral dimension of the sheet material resulting from an image forming operation in the image station.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus capable of effecting plural image forming operations on one transfer sheet includes an image transfer device for transferring an image on the transfer sheet, an image magnification changing mechanism for changing the magnification of the image to be transferred onto the transfer sheet, and a control device for controlling the magnification changing mechanism in accordance with deformation of the transfer sheet caused by an image forming operation on the transfer sheet, after a first image is formed on the transfer sheet and before a second image is formed on the same transfer sheet, whereby those images are correctly registered.
