Abstract:
In one embodiment of the invention, an integrated device is described that employs a mechanism to control power consumption of a graphics memory controller hub (GMCH) through both voltage and frequency adjustment of clock signal received from a clock generator. The GMCH comprises a graphics core and a circuit to alter operational behavior, such as the frequency of a render clock signal supplied to the graphics core. The circuit is adapted to monitor idleness of the graphics core and reduce a frequency level of the render clock signal if the idleness exceeds a determined percentage of time.
Abstract:
An apparatus for image contrast modulation includes a memory for storing a scaling factor and a memory for storing a pixel position. A pixel determiner calculates the position of another pixel based upon the pixel position and the scaling factor. A segment determiner ascertains which segment of the segmented line contains the pixel position. A coefficient generator determines which coefficient is associated with the line segment. A method for image contrast modulation includes defining at least one multi-segmented line that approximates a higher order curve including more than one pixel in a source image, and line-fitting pixel intensity values in a scaled image according to a multi-segmented line.
Abstract:
A contextual advertising system optimizes computer selection of low performance ranked messages and high performance ranked messages for display on a network location. The system divides a ranked group of online messages into a first list, a second list, and a promotion set. Each message in the first list has a performance score that is greater than each performance score of messages in the second list and the promotion set. The system moves a message within the promotion set to a third list as a function of a confidence value and moves a message from one of the third list and the second list to the first list based on an experiment event outcome. The system transmits top messages in the first list over a network for display at a recipient computer.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a composite gel polymer Li-ion battery and its producing method. The Li-ion battery cell includes a three-layer composite layer of positive electrode current collector, positive electrode active material and gel polymer electrolyte obtained by a two-layer one-step coating process; a two-layer composite layer of negative electrode current collector and negative electrode active material obtained by a single-layer coating process or a negative electrode two-layer composite layer coated with a little polyurethane adhesive(s) on the surface. The gel polymer Li-ion battery cell is obtained by laminating the resultant two composite layers. Its producing method includes: A) coating directly the composite positive electrode current collector film which has a bottom layer of polyester and a surface layer of metal (aluminum, copper, silver or gold) foil with a positive electrode active material and a gel polymer electrolyte by a two-layer one-step coating process; B) coating the composite negative electrode current collector film which has a bottom layer of polyester and a surface layer of metal (aluminum, copper, silver or gold) foil with a Li battery negative electrode active material; C) laminating A and B layers, heating and curing, leading out electrode lugs, and thereby obtaining gel polymer Li-ion battery cells; D) vacuum-packing the battery cells, and thereby obtaining a gel polymer Li-ion battery. The gel polymer Li-ion battery cell has a small thickness and a compact structure, and is laminated closely and easy for preparation and industrial automatic production. And a plurality of groups of cells can be laminated and cut to a desirable geometrical shape, so as to obtain a Li battery pack in a desired shape. The Li battery prepared by the method has a uniform structure, a low internal resistance, a high uniformity, a good unity, and a high safety.
Abstract:
Idle frames received by a graphics controller are compressed by evaluating two idle frames to create an encoding table used to replace selected pixel byte values in subsequent idle frames with codes. Possible pixel byte values are associated with a first set of counters, with each counter counting several different byte values as they occur with the first idle frame. A first subset of the possible pixel byte values is selected based on the counts in the first counters and each byte value in the first subset is associated with a second counter. The occurrences of the first subset of pixel byte values are counted in the second idle frame, and a second subset of pixel byte values is selected based on the counts in the second counters and used to create the encoding table. In one aspect, the encoding table is created when the second set of pixel byte values satisfy a threshold.

Abstract:
A resource admission control function system having dynamic discovering function in a next generation network is provided. The resource admission control function system comprises a transport resource control function entity and a policy decision function entity that intercommunicate with each other; the system also comprises a dynamic discovering function unit for dynamically collecting and saving information of connection relationship between various function entities in the network, receiving an inquiry request, and feeding back the information of connection relation meeting the inquiry conditions to an inquiry request submitting entity.
Abstract:
The present invention provides methods and systems for use in bid optimization in connection with advertisement serving impression opportunities available in an auction-based online advertising exchange. Methods are presented in which, based in part on historical advertisement performance information, a Kalman filter-based model is used in forecasting performance of a set of possible advertisement impressions served over a future period of time. Forecasted performance information is used in determining an optimized bid in connection with an available opportunity. A similarity function, including non-linearly determined feature weighting, can be used in determining most similar forecasted impressions to the available opportunity.
