Abstract: The disclosed subject matter is directed towards semi-static or dynamic shifting of New Radio demodulation reference signals to avoid collisions with LTE cell specific reference signals (LTE CRS) in a physical downlink shared channel symbol (PDSCH). In dynamic spread spectrum (DSS) deployments, where NR PDSCH mapping type B is used, e.g., to allow for two NR physical downlink control channel symbols, when the NR PDSCH starts on a symbol carrying LTE CRS, the NR DMRS of the NR PDSCH is shifted to the first symbol of the NR PDSCH not carrying LTE CRS. Whether mapping type A or mapping type B, shifting the symbol containing NR DMRS facilitates the use of two DMRS symbols without colliding with LTE CRS.

Abstract: Intelligent hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback can better support link adaption. Thus, in addition to the traditional HARQ feedback, which is to relay acknowledgement (ACK) and negative acknowledgement (NAK) data based on a decoding result, a new state for the HARQ feedback can be represented as “ACK+”. Consequently, ACK+ can be used to indicate to the network that a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) of a current data packet is too conservative, and the user equipment (UE) is capable of supporting a more aggressive MCS.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for the provisioning of backhaul links over a 5G NR (New Radio) integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network for access nodes using non-5G radio access technologies. In this way, the IAB network can service devices that are connected to the core network via older 3GPP technologies, or even non-3GPP technologies such as Wi-Fi. An IAB mobile terminal can be provided at the end point access node to make the access node an IAB node. Using an existing internet protocol (IP) routing in the IAB network, or providing for an IP tunnel between the endpoint access node and the core network can then facilitate providing backhaul services for the non-5G access node.

Abstract: A base station device can transmit data via multiple data channels to a single user equipment device. Each of the multiple data channels can be configured and scheduled via respective downlink control channels to the user equipment device. In an embodiment, the downlink control information and data can be processed in the transmitter via separate coding structures, and then the separate channel data can be combined for transmission to the mobile equipment. The data channels can use overlapping resource elements, and the receiver can use interference cancellation to remove interference from the subsequent data channel after decoding the data from the first data channel. In other embodiments, the data channels can be associated with different beamforming matrices, demodulation reference signal ports, constellation points and resource elements.

Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards adapting the demodulation reference signal sent in a wireless resource data block based on channel estimation performance. In general, if the demodulation reference signal received was not successfully able to be used to demodulate the resource data block, the demodulation reference signal density can be increased up to a maximum density, which costs resource elements but improves the channel estimation accuracy. If the demodulation reference signal received was able to be used to demodulate the resource data block, the demodulation reference signal density can be decreased down to minimum density, which saves resource elements for data. The network device can use HARQ ACK/NACK data (e.g., a current count or counted over a time period) to determine channel estimation performance, and/or the user equipment can recommend a demodulation reference signal density change.

Abstract: A more efficient network can be achieved using a network-based controller to configure routing tables to route data traffic to and from transmission points. Dynamic partitioning of network resources between the transmission points and a backhaul can be performed in conjunction with a resource scheduler of a network-based controller. The scheduler can relay scheduling metrics or benefit metrics from the network-based controller to the transmission points. Backhaul route optimization can also be used to select relay transmission points based upon conditions being determined to be satisfied.

Abstract: Facilitating a time-division multiplexing pattern-based solution for a dual-subscriber identity module with a single radio in advanced networks (e.g., 5G, 6G, and beyond) is provided herein. Operations of a method can comprise obtaining, by a network device comprising a processor, multiple time-division multiplexing patterns applicable to a mobile device. The multiple time-division multiplexing patterns indicate respective repeating patterns of an on state and an off state of a defined identity of the mobile device. The method also can comprise facilitating, by the network device, a transmission, to the mobile device, of information indicative of the multiple time-division multiplexing patterns. In an example, the mobile device can be configured to operate with at least two subscriber identity modules.

Abstract: An example method may include a processing system of a channel sounding receiver having a processor receiving from a base station, at a location, a channel sounding waveform via a plurality of carriers, sampling the channel sounding waveform via the plurality of carriers to generate a plurality of per-carrier time domain sample sets, and processing the plurality of per-carrier time domain sample sets via a plurality of discrete Fourier transform modules to provide a plurality of per-carrier frequency domain sample sets. The method may further include the processing system aligning the plurality of per-carrier frequency domain sample sets in gain and phase to provide a combined frequency domain sample set and measuring a channel property at the location based upon the combined frequency domain sample set.
