摘要:
A thermal transfer printing sheet comprising a substrate having a coating comprising a dye of the formula:A--N.dbd.N--EwhereinA is a phenyl group substituted by at least one electron-withdrawing group selected from NO.sub.2, CN, CF.sub.3, halogen, --SO.sub.2 --C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, --SO.sub.2 F, --SO.sub.2 CF.sub.3, --SO.sub.2 NRR.sup.1, --CONRR.sup.1, --COOR, --CO--CO--R, wherein R and R.sup.1 are independently selected from H and C.sub.1-4 alkyl, provided that where A carries only two halogen atoms these are not in the 2- and 6- positions in relation to the azo link;and E is the radical of an aniline, a tetrahydroquinoline, a lilolidine or a julolidine coupling component, and a thermal transfer printing process for the coloration of a polymeric substrate using the thermal transfer printing sheet.

The invention is an insertion tool for wrapping an orthopedic wire around a bone. The tool has a memory loop made of memory-shaped material which, when unconstrained, curves to a pre-determined diameter. A push-pull mechanism in the tool body is used to selectively move the memory loop in and out of the tool body. A cutter is provided at the insertion end of the tool body, to cut through tissue close to the bone. When pushed out of the tool body in a direction tangential to the perimeter of a bone, the memory loop automatically curves and wraps around the bone. Orthopedic wire is then attached to the memory loop, which is then pulled back into the tool body, pulling the orthopedic wire around the bone. A cable adapter facilitates coupling any conventional orthopedic wire to the insertion tool.

The present invention provides a method of screening for potential cancer chemotherapeutic and chemopreventive agents which act by inducing or mimicking the activity of Siah-1 in humans. This invention also provides methods of administering such agents to treat cancer by inducing or mimicking the activity of Siah-1, thus causing the degradation of .beta.-catenin.

The invention is a method, system and software application for electrochemical analysis of analytes in a solution. In one aspect of the invention, raw data is received from an electrochemical analysis and the raw data is analyzed. The analyzed data and the raw data are displayed. The electrochemical analysis is performed by applying one or more time-sequenced voltage waveforms in the solution and measuring the resulting current in the solution. In one aspect of the invention, the raw data is received from the electrochemical analysis wherein the raw data is representative of the measured current parameters. The raw data may be integrated based on one or more integration time intervals, and the raw data may be displayed in one or more three dimensional plots. The integrated data and the raw data may also be displayed in one or more two-dimensional plots. The raw data is stored for three dimensional displays and the integrated data is stored for two dimensional displays. Baseline correction is performed on the raw data and the baseline corrected data is displayed in one or more three dimensional plots and in one or more two dimensional plots. The raw data is transmitted and stored at a rate between 100 Hz and 10 KHz.

An improved compact disc holder is disclosed for the safe and convenient temporary storage of a digital optical compact disc. The disc holder may be adhesive backed for conveniently mounting to a flat surface or alternately the disc holder may be incorporated into a weighted base to be self supporting. Advantageously, the disc holder provides one or more surfaces for the prominent display of an advertisement.

A new human gene termed MCC is disclosed. Methods, primers, probes and kits are provided for assessing mutations of the MCC gene in human tissues and body samples. Gross rearrangement and point mutations in MCC are observed in human tumor cells. MCC is expressed in most normal tissues. These results suggest that MCC is a tumor suppressor.
