摘要： A pontoon boat is provided with a jet drive propulsion system in which an impeller is driven by an engine. The jet drive propulsion device is dirigible as a result of the fact that a nozzle of the device is rotatable about a generally vertical steering axis. The jet drive device can be supported below a deck of a pontoon boat and located between two flotation tubes of the pontoon boat. Alternative locations can also be used, such as within the structure of the flotation tubes themselves.

摘要： A sealing member for a propeller shaft is provided with a heat shield to prevent damage from occurring to an elastomeric portion of the sealing member when exposed to hot exhaust gases. The exhaust gases can flow in thermal communication with the elastomeric portion of the sealing member when the marine propulsion unit is operated in reverse gear. A heat shield is provided by extending a metallic portion of the sealing structure toward the outer cylindrical surface of the propeller shaft and rounding the edge to avoid direct contact between the heat shield and the propeller shaft.

摘要： A telecommunication system provides voice and data communications over a conventional telephone line that can be dynamically switched from voice mode to data mode during a single conversation. Each station includes a telephone for voice communications and bypass relay means for selectively connecting the telephone to the telephone line in voice mode and disconnecting the telephone while operating in data mode. Prior to transmitting data, the originating station first transmits a start signal over the telephone line that includes a rate signal indicating one of the several possible data transmission rates. If a station detects a start signal transmitted by a remote station, a microcontroller directs the bypass relay means and modem to automatically switch from voice mode to data mode in preparation for receiving data from the originating station.

Manifold structure, including internal dams (142, 146) and a deflector plate (138), prevents an overly rich fuel mixture in the lower cylinder (26) at idle, and prevents an overly rich fuel mixture in the upper cylinder (22) at running speeds above idle.

摘要： An improved cooling and filtration system for a disk file is provided in which a closed loop path is established in the disk enclosure extending from the area of the disk hub through holes in disk spacers radially outward across the disk surface, down the vertical walls of the enclosure and back to the impellar of the disk hub through one of two parallel branch segments of the closed loop. One of the parallel branch segments is through a high impedance, low volume filter branch which contains a filter to remove debris. The other branch segment is a low impedance, high volume branch which includes the hot side of a heat exchanger which is an integral part of the disk file baseplate on which the disk shaft and positioning system components are mounted. A separate open loop path outside of the disk enclosure extends from the impellar surface of the driving pulley attached to the disk spindle through the cold side of the heat exchanger.

摘要： An arrangement in a telephone system providing for the handling of calls which have been automatically redirected to a call covering station in a customer premises telephone system. The covering station is equipped with one or more function buttons each for activating a different call processing function on a covered call at the covering station. The arrangement automatically identifies the intended principal station on a covered call and performs the necessary operations associated with an operation of one of the function buttons with respect to the principal station in question regardless of how many principal stations are covered by the covering station, thereby eliminating direct station selection (DSS) keyfields or the dialing of principal station numbers from the covering station.
