Abstract: A retrieval device attachable to a scope includes a handle which has an attachment portion configured to couple the handle to the scope; a shaft coupled to the handle having a wire immovably coupled to the handle; and a sheath movable relative to the handle over the wire between a distal position and a proximal position via an actuator of the handle. The actuator actuates a slider assembly of the handle. The slider assembly is coupled to the sheath and movable relative to the attachment portion to move the sheath and an expandable end effector coupled to the distal end of the wire. The end effector is movable between a collapsed configuration when the sheath is moved distally to the distal position to cover the end effector and an expanded configuration when the sheath is moved proximally to the proximal position, uncovering the end effector.

At least a portion of the end effector may be movable relative to the sheath between extended and retracted states. Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a retrieval device may include a distally located end effector movable between a contracted state and an expanded state. The end effector may include a plurality of support members each including a passage. The end effector may also include a plurality of movable members. A first movable member may include a first portion extending into a first passage of the support member passages. Abstract: Several embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to medical visualization systems that comprise combinations of disposable and resuable components, such as catheters, functional handles, hubs, optical devices, etc. Other embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to features and aspects of an in-vivo visualization system that comprises an endoscope having a working channel through which a catheter having viewing capabilities is routed. the catheter may obtain viewing capabilities by being constructed as a vision catheter or by having a fiberscope or other viewing device selectively routed through one of its channels. The catheter is preferably of the steerable type so that the distal end of the catheter may be steered from its proximal end as it is advanced with the body. A suitable use for the in-vivo visualization system includes but is not limited to diagnosis and/or treatment of the duodenum, and particularly the biliary tree.

Abstract: A scope device includes a shaft, a deflectable portion, and a handle portion. The shaft is inserted through a body lumen to a target area within a body. The shaft defines first and second lumens extending along a proximal portion thereof. The first and second lumens are merged to form a common lumen along a distal portion thereof via a fitting having a structure which, when connected to the first and second lumens, converge the first and second lumens toward the common lumen. The deflectable portion is connected to the distal end of the shaft and includes a channel aligned with and in communication with the common lumen. The handle portion includes a connector having a first hub including a first channel open to and in communication with the first lumen and a second hub including a second channel open to and in communication with the second lumen.

A second portion of the sheath may protrude from the handle. The sheath may include a passage. The device may include an end effector coupled to an end of the sheath. The device may include a drive member coupled to the handle and to the end effector. The drive member may extend through the passage of the sheath to the end effector. Actuation of the handle may move the end effector between an open state, for receiving material, and a closed state, for holding onto material, by causing relative movement between the drive member and the sheath. Further actuation of the handle may move the end effector relative to the handle while the end effector remains in the closed state.
