    摘要： A roller skate comprising an elongated bar, three rollers carried by said bar in alignment at the bottom of a shoe, the rear and middle rollers being spaced apart a greater distance than the distance between the middle and front rollers and being located on each side of the vertical line passing through the center of gravity of the user. The ground contact zone of the front roller is at a higher level than that of the rear and middle rollers. The bar is detachably secured to separate shoe supporting structures and, therefore, can be replaced by an ice-skate blade. The same shoe supporting structures can be used in association with blades and roller carrying bars of different lengths to fit shoes of different sizes. The rollers have detachable rims of different types for use on different surfaces. In a modified embodiment, the ice-skate blade is spring-loaded at its rear end for use on a rough ice surface, such as on frozen lakes.

    摘要： An innovative skate is disclosed, for use on a synthetic plastic surface. The skate comprises a boot, a rigid sole and a train secured to the sole.     摘要： A ski brake, more specifically for use in association with cross-country skis and including a plate fixed to, and extending outwardly from each ski near the conventional harness. The plate includes an attachment portion and a ski pole catching portion, the latter having a rearwardly directed notch to receive the ski pole with the basket of the pole against the bottom of the ski. The notch is oriented relative to the ski to form in the ski pole catching portion a hooking portion which projects transversely inward toward the ski and restrain the ski pole in the notch. In one embodiment, each plate includes an upwardly directed flange at its outer edge provided with a notch to receive the rim of the ski pole basket and thus providing for downhill braking. The ski pole may have a flexible joint to enable convenient positioning of the ski pole handles relative to the skier. In a preferred embodiment, the ski pole is provided with an annular spacer of predetermined thickness and outside diameter to hold the basket flat against the bottom of the ski and to hold the ski pole against unintentional disengagement with the ski pole hooking portion.

    摘要： A coupling assembly adapted to connect a fishhook to the remainder of a fishing line, including the lure, and which responds to tension on this remainder of the fishing line to release the same free of the fishhook when the latter catches a submerged obstacle. This tension release coupling assembly includes a resilient coupling member, such as of plastic, which is attached to the cord of the fishing line and which has a cavity therein adapted to releasably catch the eye of a common fishhook or an enlarged end portion of a specially made fishhook or hook connector member. The resilient coupling member may be calibrated in relation to the different strengths of cord used for the fishing lines such that the fishhook will be released before the tensional strength of the corresponding cord is reached. The resilient coupling members are colored in accordance with a code distinctive of the predetermined calibration of strength thereof.
