    摘要: A method and an apparatus for multimedia data management are disclosed. The method provides an indexing and retrieval scheme for digital photos with speech annotations based on image-like patterns transformed from the recognized syllable candidates. For annotated spoken content, the recognized n-best syllable candidates are transformed into a sequence of syllable-transformed patterns. Eigen-image analysis is further adopted to extract the significant information to reduce the dimensionality. Vector quantization is applied to quantize the syllable-transformed patterns into feature vectors for indexing. The invention of indexing scheme reduces the dimensionality and noise of data, and achieves better performance of 16.26% for speech annotated photo retrieval.

Based on compiler techniques, the invention arranges predicted-power-gating instructions into every thread of a may-happen-in-parallel region. A predicted-power-on instruction determines whether the corresponding component has been powered on, and powers on the component when it has not been powered on yet. A predicted-power-off instruction determines whether the component is required in the rest of the may-happen-in-parallel region, and powers off the component when it is required later.

    摘要: A semiconductor read-only memory (ROM) and a method of fabricating the same are provided. The ROM device is structured in such a manner that allows the fabrication to include a fewer number of mask processes. This makes it more cost effective and allows a cycle time that is shorter than that of the prior art. Moreover, the particular structure of the ROM device makes punchthrough less likely to occur between any neighboring pairs of the buried bit lines when the ROM device is further scaled down. The ROM device is constructed on a semiconductor substrate which is partitioned into a peripheral region and a cell region. A plurality of STI structures are formed at predefined locations in both the peripheral region and the cell region. Immediately after this, a first ion-implantation process can be performed on the cell region to form a plurality of buried bit lines. Subsequently, the dielectric isolation layers in all of the STI structures in the cell region are removed, leaving a plurality of empty trenches behind. A conformal insulating layer and a conductive layer are then successively formed over the wafer, and the conductive layer is further selectively removed to form a word line in the cell region and a gate in the peripheral region. In the code implantation process, selected channel regions between the buried bit lines are doped with impurities for code implantation of data into the ROM device.

    摘要: The present invention discloses a method of forming a contact window on a substrate. The method in the present invention includes a step of forming a gate structure on said substrate having a gate oxide, a gate electrode on the gate oxide, and a gate electrode protection layer on the gate electrode, a step of forming a protection layer conforming with the substrate and the gate structure, and a step of forming a first insulation layer over the protection layer. The method further includes removing a portion of the first insulation layer and a portion of the protection layer for forming side wall spacers at side walls of the gate structure, performing a ion implantation to the substrate using the gate structure and the side wall spacers as a mask, and then forming a second insulation layer on the substrate, the side wall spacers, and the gate structure. The method further includes patterning a photoresist layer on the second insulation layer to expose a portion of second insulation layer for making a connection. Finally, a portion of the second insulation layer is removed for forming a contact window.

    摘要: A method of constructing a model of recognizing English pronunciation variations is used to recognize English pronunciations with different intonations influenced by non-English native languages. The method includes collecting a plurality of sound information corresponding to English expressions; corresponding phonetic alphabets of the non-English native language and English of a region to International Phonetic Alphabets (IPAs), so as to form a plurality of pronunciation models; converting the sound information with the pronunciation models to form a pronunciation variation network of the corresponding English expressions, thereby detecting whether the English expressions have pronunciation variation paths; and finally summarizing the pronunciation variation paths to form a plurality of pronunciation variation rules. Furthermore, the pronunciation variations are represented by phonetics features to infer possible pronunciation variation rules, which are stored to form pronunciation variation models. The construction of the pronunciation variation models enhances applicability of an English recognition system and accuracy of voice recognition.

    摘要: A demosaicking method and apparatus for color filter array interpolation in digital image acquisition systems is provided. The method includes a data-training phase and a data-practice phase. In the data-training phase of this invention, a huge volume of image samples are received for statistical analysis and compared with their corresponding full-color images. The optimal samples are then recorded in a database. In the data-practice phase of this invention, the images of color filter array are reconstructed. The present invention not only significantly improves the image quality but also reduces undue hardware cost. Furthermore, it has an advantage of ease of hardware implementation. All the color relationships of neighboring pixels are recorded in a database for statistical analysis. The database is not limited to only one set. It is also pretty flexible, and can be adjusted or updated depending on desired applications.
