    摘要: The modular assignment of storage space provides consumers with greater access to cDVR systems and to more efficiently allocate storage within the cDVR system. When a record command is received, it will be determined whether sufficient storage space is available to the consumers. When it is determined that the consumer does not have enough storage space to record the content item in the cDVR system, additional storage space may be allocated modularly to the consumer. Consumers will select how storage space is to be modularly allocated for their use (either via preset options or at the time or recording) and the service provider or operator of the cDVR will provide the set amount in accordance with the consumer's preferences.

    摘要: Selectable content is provided within a video stream. Additional content such as advertisements or other information that may be of interest to a user is provided in an interactive fashion providing a richer and deeper viewing experience and giving more control to the user during video viewing. Prescreening of the video content may be done and tags may be inserted in the video stream in association with additional content that may be provided for tagged objects in the video stream. An indication may be provided to the user indicating the availability of additional interactive content in a variety of ways. Upon user request, the content associated with the tags may be presented to the user. The additional content may be provided to the user in a hybrid fashion which involves rendering the video content and additional interactive content simultaneously or by enabling full screen browsing experience.

    摘要: A method and system for monitoring the quality of the content is provided. The method and system may identify, in real time, whether the quality of the content has fallen below a predetermined threshold. Once the quality of the content has fallen below a predetermined threshold, the system may identify other delivery mechanisms (e.g., connectivity options and/or other sources) to deliver the content at a lower constant bitrate. Subsequently, the system may check for higher quality content and provide the user with options to switch to the other source. Accordingly, the method and system identifies the available video quality options for a specific content item, which may be provided by a plurality of different content sources, and provides the user with the ability to switch to another content source with minimal user input.
