A leak detection apparatus detects leaks or premature wearing in a lined fluid filled vessel. A leak detection apparatus comprises a current density meter, a power supply, and a probe. The probe is inserted into the fluid filled vessel. The power supply supplies an AC or DC electric current to a directional amplifier of the probe. A torroid of the probe senses the current density in the fluid and sends an electrical signal to the current density meter. The current density meter measures the electrical signal and communicates a current density readout to a display. This readout indicates to an operator whether or not there is a crack, premature wearing, or a bypass.

The present disclosure relates to corner profiles and/or corner reinforcement for liners and linings that are suitable for use with tanks and other storage/containment vessels, such as process tanks, immersion tanks, indoor or outdoor containment pits, gravity feed conduits (e.g., concrete trench, canal, or drain, etc.) for transferring or conveying liquid, grain storage tanks or containers (e.g., dielectric or electrically non-conductive liners for grain storage, etc.), etc. The present disclosure also relates to tanks and other storage/containment vessels including liners and linings with corner profiles and/or corner reinforcement. Additionally, the present disclosure relates to methods, systems, and apparatus for providing corner profiles and/or corner reinforcement for liners and linings.

According to various aspects, exemplary embodiments are disclosed liners, linings, tanks including the same, and methods of providing liners and linings for tanks. In an exemplary embodiment, a liner or lining includes a bottom sheet and a plurality of side sheets. At least one pair of adjacent side sheets is joined by an extrusion weld along an interface between the pair of adjacent side sheets. The extrusion weld is coupled to at least one mechanical fastener which is coupled to at least one structural component such that the pair of adjacent side sheets is anchored to the structural component.

Disclosed herein are exemplary embodiments of linings, liners, and methods of providing a liner or lining for a tank. An exemplary embodiment includes a method of providing a liner or lining for a tank. In this exemplar embodiment, the method includes extrusion welding a pair of sheets together by infusing a molten thermoplastic material along an interface and within a gap between the pair of sheets. The method also includes extrusion welding the pair of sheets to a bottom sheet by infusing the molten thermoplastic material along and between the pair of sheets and the bottom sheet.

A method and apparatus for lining process tanks. The method comprises lining a tank with a plurality of sheets, wherein the tank has walls and a bottom that intersect at a corner of the tank. The method comprises bonding a bottom sheet of the plurality of sheets to the bottom of the tank. Next, a pair of sheets of the plurality of sheets are bonded to adjacent walls of the tank and above the bottom sheet, each sheet of the pair of sheets having a first edge and a second edge such that the first edges of the pair of sheets are positioned at the intersection of adjacent walls of the tank to position an interface between the pair of sheets. The method also comprises extrusion welding the pair of sheets together by infusing a molten thermoplastic material along the pair of sheets and within the interface of the pair of sheets. Additionally, the method comprises extrusion welding the pair of sheets to the bottom sheet by infusing the molten thermoplastic material along and between the pair of sheets and the bottom sheet wherein the infused thermoplastic material seals the pair of sheets and bottom sheet to isolate the tank from contents that contact the pair of sheets and bottom sheet.
