Abstract:
A paint application facility including a paint booth assembly for applying paint to automotive vehicles each defining a longitudinal axis includes a carrier adapted to serially move a plurality of automotive vehicles through the booth assembly in a direction generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle.
Abstract:
A frame assembly for an environmental enclosure including a plurality of channel-shaped members each including an end wall, opposed spaced side walls and an opening opposite the end wall adapted to receive and retain an end cap for retaining a film over the frame assembly having an integral internal channel which receives a connector element for interconnecting the frame members into a rectangular frame assembly and the frame assemblies are then interconnected to form an environmental enclosure. In one embodiment, the channel-shaped frame members include a generally L-shaped connector portion integral with one of the side walls for interconnecting the frame assemblies in side to side and end to end relation. In the other embodiment, the rectangular frame assembly has a height equal to the height of the environmental enclosure and transverse bracing elements having a U-shaped connector plate including transverse slots received in the internal channel.
Abstract:
An oven for heating a coating on a substrate, such as a painted vehicle body, including a first zone having radiant tubes and shields above the tubes and a second zone including side heat chambers having nozzles directing heated air onto a coated substrate and a hold zone. The radiant tubes may include a first linear portion extending through the oven and return loop beneath the substrate to conserve energy and sill ducts directing heated air against the underside of the vehicle body. The temperature is controlled by sensors contacting the radiant tubes and a proportional integral control system.
Abstract:
A wireless system for self-service shopping is described that includes a customer identification device with an optically readable code, a portable terminal that includes an optical code reader, a local area radio, a terminal controller, and a locking mechanism, a master station, consisting of a master controller and a master radio, and a receiving rack for the portable terminals to which the scanners may be locked using the locking mechanism. A customer presents his or her identification device to a terminal which reads the code, the code is transferred by radio to the master controller which checks the identification and, if valid, sends an authorized signal by radio to the terminal to unlock the scanner. In addition, several locking mechanisms are described that are controlled by the terminal controller. An additional feature provides a shopping cart with a receiving cradle for a portable terminal that allows the customer to lock the scanner onto the cart for hands-free shopping.
Abstract:
A novel anti-etch and cleaning solution is described. The solution comprises a hetero functionalized polymer, caustic and optionally, an anti-etch component and unexpectedly results in glassware that is substantially free of contaminants and etching after washing.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a nutritional composition and method of using and making the nutritional composition. The nutritional composition is a hydrolyzed pea protein based nutrient composition for use in both enteral and oral feeding, and provides a non-allergenic diet for providing optimal nutrition to users. The nutritional composition is made from organic and plant-based ingredients. The nutritional composition has pea protein hydrolysates, phytochemical extracts, fatty acids, organic ingredients free of the top eight allergens and corn, and prebiotic fiber. The nutritional composition is provided in liquid form for enteral and/or oral feeding.
Abstract:
Described herein are endoscopic staplers and methods used to apply one or more fasteners to body tissue. In one embodiment, a fastener-applying device, which is preferably a stapler, is passed transorally into the stomach to plicate stomach tissue by engaging tissue from inside the stomach and drawing it inwardly. In the disclosed embodiments, the tissue is drawn into a tissue chamber, causing sections of serosal tissue to be positioned facing one another. The disclosed staplers allow opposed sections of tissue to be moved into contact with another, and preferably deliver staples for maintaining contact between tissue sections at least until serosal bonds form. Each of these steps may be performed wholly from the inside of the stomach and thus can eliminate the need for any surgical or laparoscopic intervention, After one or more plications are formed, medical devices may optionally be coupled to the plication(s) for retention within the stomach.
Abstract:
A staple housing includes an array of staples each in a staple delivery position or “ready position” ready to be fired into target tissue. A staple driver is advanceable to drive the ready-position staples from the staple head into the tissue using staple pushers. During use, the staples in the ready positions are simultaneously fired into the target tissue using the staple pushers, forming an array of staples in the target tissue. After the array has been fired, one or more feed mechanisms within the staple housing advance a second group of staples from one or more staple storage locations into the ready positions in preparation for firing of the second group of staples.
Abstract:
A furnace damper control system and method thereof including a furnace having at least one opening through which electromagnetic radiation from within the furnace may be sensed, an exhaust duct capable of receiving an exhaust gas stream emerging from the furnace, and a controllable damper capable of adjusting the pressure in the exhaust duct. A sensor is capable of sensing electromagnetic radiation through one or more of the openings of the furnace and generating a sensor signal corresponding to the electromagnetic radiation, and a processor is capable of processing the sensor signal and generating a monitoring signal responsive to a parameter of the electromagnetic radiation indicative of furnace emissions. A controller is capable of controlling the damper responsive to the monitoring signal indicative of the furnace emissions.
