Abstract: Various audiovisual presentation arrangements are described. In some embodiments, a headset is configured to output audio to a user. A television receiver may be configured to output a plurality of video feeds for simultaneous presentation by a display device. Each video feed of the plurality of video feeds may be displayed in a different display region of the display device. The television receiver may receive a command indicative of a video feed of the plurality of videos feeds that the user is viewing on the display device. Based on the command, the television receiver may output, to the headset, an audio feed that corresponds to the video feed the user is viewing.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed toward communication of voice data via a first receiving device using at least three non-overlapping networks. The communication includes receiving at the first receiving device a call request from a first communications device via a first personal area network. The call request identifies a second receiving device. The first receiving device is configured to output first video data and first audio data to at least one first presentation device. The communication also includes communicating voice data between the first communications device and the first receiving device via the first personal area network, and communicating the voice data between the first receiving device and the second receiving device via a receiving device network. The second receiving device is configured to output second video data and second audio data to at least one second presentation device. The communication also includes communicating the voice data between the second receiving device and a second communications device via a second personal area network.

Abstract: A user's set top box detects the ringing of a telephone, mobile device or other type of audible notification of an incoming call or message and, in response, sends a command causing a current audio level of the television programming or other media currently being played to decrease such that the audible notification can be heard by the user. A device silencing manager on the set top box may detect the audible notification occurring by the sound waves of the audible notification from the mobile device picked up by a microphone of the receiving device. Additionally or alternatively, a device silencing manager on the set top box may wirelessly receive, either directly or indirectly from the mobile device, an electronic notification of the audible notification.

Abstract: To address a service interruption while a procedure to change to a dynamic frequency selection (DFS) wireless frequency channel is being performed, a service interruption message is displayed to the user or some other action is taken while a wireless access point changes to the DFS wireless frequency channel. Another action to address the service interruption may be the media content client playing buffered media content stored in a buffer on the media content client to avoid an appearance to the user of an interruption in service. Also, in some embodiments, buffered video is received from the receiving device after the interruption in service has ended so that the media content client may resume playing, and the user may continue to view, the video program from the point where the user left off when the DFS change process and service interruption had started.

Abstract: A receiving device system arranged to distribute voice communications includes first and second receiving devices, each having a personal area network (PAN) transceiver, a programming transceiver to receive multimedia content, and a local area network (LAN) transceiver. The second receiving device is configured to accept input data via its PAN transceiver from a communications device, initiate communications with the first receiving device via the LAN, and communicate voice data received via the second PAN transceiver to the first receiving device via the LAN. The voice data is passed to a communications device via the PAN transceiver of the first receiving device. Users associated with each of the two communications devices may carry on a voice conversation via voice data being passed through each of the two receiving devices.

Abstract: A mobile device logging and tracking system permits a communicative association between a mobile device and a receiving device.
