摘要： The present invention provides a process for producing a craze resistant plastic article. The process includes steps of exposing a substrate surface to a plasma gas formed by introducing a gas mixture containing oxygen and an organosilicon monomer into a plasma chamber to deposit a polymer coating that adheres to the surface of the substrate. An innermost region of the coating adjacent the surface of the substrate is deposited with a ratio of organosilicon monomer to oxygen in the gas mixture that is greater than or equal to 1. An outermost region of the coating is deposited with a ratio of organosilicon monomer to oxygen in the gas mixture that is less than 1. The ratio of organosilicon monomer to oxygen in the plasma gas is altered progressively over time between deposition of the innermost and outermost regions to form a graded coating.

The carrying case is constructed without protrusions and with a rigid handle, which combine to allow easy removal and deployment of the contents from a vehicle storage location to a cardiac arrest patient. The carrying case is further constructed with a bracket or optional test fixture for a CPR Meter.

摘要： A method and article for storing an automatic external defibrillator for use without a prescription are described. The hermetically sealed electrode pads of the OTC AED are electrically coupled to the OTC AED base unit where they are constantly accessible to self-test circuitry inside the base unit for periodic, automatic self-test. In one embodiment the self-test is designed to determine whether the conductive gel of the electrode pads has dried out. In another embodiment self-test circuitry also tests the battery while the OTC AED is being stored prior to use.

摘要： An ophthalmic lens suited for extended-wear periods of at least one day on the eye without a clinically significant amount of corneal swelling and without substantial wearer discomfort. The lens has a balance of oxygen permeability and ion or water permeability, with the ion or water permeability being sufficient to provide good on-eye movement, such that a good tear exchange occurs between the lens and the eye. A preferred lens is a copolymerization product of a oxyperm macromer and an ionoperm monomer. The invention encompasses extended wear contact lenses, which include a core having oxygen transmission and ion transmission pathways extending from the inner surface to the outer surface.
