Abstract:
A method and apparatus for wireless communications for relay communication are provided. The method includes a source node sets up one or more backup relay links between the source node and a destination node that comprises a route through one or more standby relay nodes; transmits a first frame to the one or more standby relay nodes to activate the one or more standby relay nodes, transmits a second frame from the source node to the destination node informing the destination node of a switch of the relay link. Apparatuses are provided thereof.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting to a plurality of responder stations includes transmitting a first direct link setup request message to a first responder station via an access point, the first direct link setup request message including a first group identifier, the first group identifier being received from a communications controller and being associated with the first responder station, and transmitting a second direct link setup request message to a second responder station via the access point, the second setup request message including a second group identifier, the second group identifier being received from the communications controller and being associated with the second responder station. The method also includes transmitting data to the first responder station and the second responder station in a single transmission.
Abstract:
An apparatus for managing contention in a communications system, the apparatus comprising a processor and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing programming for execution by the processor. The programming may include instructions to receive a ranging code from a device in a ranging channel, the ranging code corresponding to a current ranging attempt. The programming may further include instructions to broadcast a message acknowledging reception of the ranging code. The programming may further include instructions to receive a ranging request message from the device, the ranging request message comprising a ranging retries parameter that specifies a number of ranging retries that the device performed during the current ranging attempt.
Abstract:
A mobile station selects a provider such as an online sign up (OSU) provider by receiving a pre-association message including OSU selection information from a Wi-Fi network component, such as an access point in communication with the OSU provider, and sending a selection of an OSU provider in accordance with the OSU selection information to the network component. The OSU selection information excludes identification of the OSU network provider or resource, but provides other attributes to the user, such as price or service configuration. The pre-association message may be transmitted as a beacon or using ANQP.
Abstract:
An embodiment method of collision resolution includes receiving a frame A and a colliding frame B. The frame A and the colliding frame B are received over a channel and overlap in time. The method also includes decoding the frame A. The method also includes recovering and decoding the colliding frame B, at least partially, using successive interference cancellation (SIC).
Abstract:
A method embodiment includes receiving, by a network device, collided first and second transmissions, signaling a retransmission request to a first source of the collided first transmission, receiving a retransmitted first transmission, and recovering the collided second transmission using the collided first and second transmissions and the retransmitted first transmission.
Abstract:
Embodiments are provided herein for determining a synchronizing master for device-to-device (D2D) communication in a cellular network environment. In an embodiment, a user equipment (UE) receives a discovery signal comprising a timing reference, and determines a transmitter of the discovery signal. In accordance with the determination of the transmitter of the discovery signal, the UE performs one of synchronizing to the timing reference in the discovery signal and transmitting a second discovery signal. The UE performs the synchronizing to the timing reference if the transmitter of the discovery is a cellular network. Alternatively, the UE transmits the second discovery signal upon determining that the transmitter of the discovery signal is a second UE that is out of coverage of a cellular network.
Abstract:
According to embodiments, a first UE receives from a base station a configuration indicator. The configuration indicator indicates to the first UE for the first UE to measure quality of a sidelink connection from a second UE on resources of a resource pool in a wireless network. The first UE transmits a feedback report to the base station. The feedback report includes an identification of the second UE in the wireless network and a measurement result of the sidelink connection from the second UE.

Abstract:
A method for multiple association includes associating with a first access point (AP) in a primary basic service set (BSS), associating with a second AP in a secondary BSS, informing the first and second APs of an inter-BSS relaying capability of a doubly-associated station, and relaying data between the first AP and the second AP.
