Abstract: A gas turbine may include a rotational shaft that couples to a first generator and a second generator. The gas turbine may include a controller that receives one or more load parameters that corresponds to a first set of electrical properties associated with one or more loads coupled to the first generator, the second generator, or both, that receives one or more sensed parameters from one or more sensors that measure a second set of electrical properties associated with the one or more loads, that determines one or more differences between the one or more load parameters and the one or more sensed parameters, and that controls one or more operations of the first generator, the second generator, or both based on the differences.

Abstract: A control system for a power generation system includes a generator coupled to a turbine via a shaft. The control system includes a memory storing instructions. The control system also includes a processor coupled to the memory and configured to execute the instructions. When the instructions are executed it causes the processor to receive a direct current (DC)-link voltage from an automatic voltage regulator (AVR), wherein the AVR is configured to control voltage characteristics of the generator, and to determine a speed of the generator based on the DC-link voltage.

Abstract: A system includes a clutchless synchronous condensing coupling configured to couple a turbine shaft of a gas turbine system to a generator shaft of a synchronous generator of a power generation system. The clutchless synchronous condensing coupling includes a first coupling portion configured to couple to the turbine shaft, and a second coupling portion configured to couple to the generator shaft. The clutchless synchronous condensing coupling is configured to allow the power generation system to operate in an active power mode and a reactive power mode without a clutch assembly.

Abstract: A turbine ventilation system includes a controller that is coupled to an actuator that is coupled to a vane that is disposed across an intake port between a gas turbine enclosure and the turbine ventilation system. The controller can cause the actuator to change a position of the vane to alter an air flow from the turbine ventilation system into the gas turbine enclosure based upon feedback from one or more sensors disposed within the gas turbine enclosure.
