    摘要: An active matrix liquid crystal display device which has color filters disposed on a TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) substrate, and which reduces the effect of light leakage regions over data lines for an increased viewing angle. The liquid crystal display device has the data lines disposed on the TFT substrate at respective gaps between adjacent two of pixel electrodes, for supplying data signals to TFTs to drive pixel electrodes, and a black matrix disposed on the TFT substrate in association with the data lines for blocking light passing in a predetermined viewing angle range through a light leakage region created in the liquid crystal layer depending on a potential difference between adjacent two of the pixel electrodes.

    摘要: First and second transparent substrates which are arranged to face each other are provided to a color liquid crystal display panel. A liquid crystal layer is provided between the first and the second transparent substrates. A plurality of thin film transistors are provided on the first transparent substrate. An insulation film provided on the first transparent substrate so as to cover the thin film transistors. A color filter which includes first to third color layers stacked on the insulation layer is provided. A contacting color layer is provided on the insulation film in a region above the thin film transistors. The contacting color layer has at least one color layer selected from a group of composed of the first to third color layers. A black matrix is provided on the contacting color layer. The black matrix has opening portions for transmitting light from the color filter.

Region of interest extraction unit generates depth image signal by depth image conversion employing depth threshold, depth image signal including information on distance in three-dimensional space between viewpoint and each pixel of two-dimensional image including region of interest desired to be noted by observer, depth image conversion being such that depth value indicating distance between viewpoint and each pixel of two-dimensional image is converted to depth value for 2D display when depth value is equal to or larger than depth threshold. Parallax image generation unit generates both-eye parallax image having parallax in region of interest alone, from two-dimensional image and image obtained by conversion of region of interest image representing region of interest at each of both-eye viewpoints, based on two-dimensional image and depth image signal. 3D image display unit displays both eye parallax image.

    摘要: There is provided an image display device capable of obtaining a renewed screen giving normal feelings by simple LUT (Look Up Table) adjustment even at a time of displaying with multiple gray levels. A screen of the electronic paper section making up the display device is renewed by driving for a period of time corresponding to a plurality of frames according to input gray level data of a renewed screen. The renewed screen is displayed with a coarse gray level during a first displaying period in a renewing period corresponding to a plurality of frames at an output voltage specified by a high-order bit of its gray level data and, thereafter, is displayed with a fine gray level during a second displaying period in the renewing period at an output voltage specified by a low-order bit of its gray level data.

Provided is a transflective liquid crystal display device that includes: within a unit pixel, a reflective area including a pixel electrode and a common electrode as a pair and a reflector, and a transmissive area including a pixel electrode and a common electrode as a pair; a liquid crystal layer provided to the reflective area and the transmissive area; storage capacitances for the reflective area and the transmissive area provided in a lower layer of the reflector for changing a potential of the pixel electrode by following a potential of the common electrode; and a suppressing device for suppressing a light leakage in the liquid crystal layer when the pixel electrode is affected by a potential of the reflector due to capacitance coupling generated between the reflector and the pixel electrode.
