摘要: A reflecting film has at least a transparent polymer film and a thin silver layer applied on the transparent polymer film to reflect light entered from a side of the transparent polymer film. The reflecting film retains a reflectance of at least 90% to visible light even after the reflector is exposed for 300 hours at a reflecting film temperature of 100.degree. C. and an exposure intensity of 500 mW/cm.sup.2 to artificial sunlight from which light of 390 nm and shorter in wavelength has been eliminated. For fabricating the reflecting film, a surface of the transparent polymer film is preferably treated with a metal-containing plasma, then the thin-silver layer is deposited on the treated surface. A reflector making use of the reflecting film is also disclosed.

摘要: Improved sampling clock reproducing apparatus for receiving digital signal which is superimposed in the television signal during a vertical blanking interval. The sampling clock signal is made by selectively gating a pilot signal from the superimposed signal, obtaining a square thereof, then passing it through a resonance circuit with a resonance frequency twice a repetition frequency of the pilot signal. Thus, the sampling clock signal of the frequency twice the repetition frequency of the pilot signal is obtainable without digital processing attaining high durability against noises.

摘要: In an image processing apparatus, when converting an input image into vector data, converting the vectorized image into data in a file format which can be used in application software, and transferring the converted data in the file format, the image processing apparatus acquires information specifying a destination of the transfer and determines the file format into which the vectorized image is to be converted according to the acquired information specifying the destination. With this configuration, it is possible to provide the image processing apparatus and a control method for the same that allow transfer after conversion into an appropriate file format for each use case.

摘要: A reflector having a structure in which a high refractive index layer, a low refractive index layer, and a metal layer mainly composed of silver or aluminum are sequentially arranged on a polymer base. The reflector can realize a higher reflectance than the conventional reflective bodies by using a polymer base wherein the atoms measured by XPS which constitute the surface of the polymer base are substantially identical with those constituting the inside of the polymer base. Furthermore, such a reflector can be used for a reflector, a reflector under a light-guiding plate, a backlight device and a liquid crystal display. The polymer base can be obtained by bringing a polymer base and a liquid into contact with each other.

摘要: An information processing system which makes it possible to enable the effective use of an optional function (surplus optional function) remaining in an unusable state. When one printing apparatus has optional function data (license or an application program) stored therein for execution of an optional function, without a required optional device mounted thereon, and another printing apparatus has the optional device mounted thereon without the optional function data, the optional function data is transferred from the one printing apparatus to the other printing apparatus. Upon reception of the optional function data, the optional function data is stored in a storage device of the printing apparatus. When the optional function data stored in the storage device, and the optional device is mounted, the optional function is caused to be executed.

摘要: An optical filter of the present invention contains at least one tetra-acenaphthoporphyrin compound. The tetra-acenaphthoporphyrin compound has preferably its absorption maximum in a wavelength range of from 530 to 570 nm and a ratio of an absorption coefficient at 550 nm to an absorption coefficient at 525 nm of not less than 1.2. Also, a percentage of light transmittance at 550 nm to light transmittance at 525 nm is preferably not more than 85%. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide the optical filter which can eliminate an unnecessary light mainly existing in a wavelength of from 520 to 700 nm and is excellent in durability. A display unit using the optical filter of the present invention can improve contrast in a bright place, and improve color purity of luminescent color.

摘要: An object of the invention is to provide a reflector using a metal thin film layer, particularly a reflector having higher reflectance than in the prior art. Specifically, studies have been made to provide a reflector which exhibits a superior reflection-increasing effect. As a result, it has been found that if the thickness of a low refractive index thin film layer (B) which comes in contact with a metal thin film layer (A) is controlled so that it is within a range of 0.7λ/8nL-1.3λ/8nL, a reflector having an arrangement of metal layer (A)/low refractive index thin film layer (B)/high refractive index thin film layer (C) exhibits reflectance which is extremely superior than in the prior art over a wide wavelength range. More specifically, it exhibits higher reflectance than a pure silver single film does, and a reflector superior in durability can be obtained. The lamp reflector, reflector under the light-guiding plate of the invention uses the above-mentioned reflector; therefore, if it is applied to each display device, high brilliance and vivid image can be realized. Further, since the liquid crystal display device of the invention uses the above-mentioned reflector, a clear vivid image can be realized.
