    Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring procedural compliance of staff in a facility. A system may include a plurality of sensors positioned adjacent a hand washing station. Each of the plurality of sensors may be configured to provide a corresponding sensor output signal that is indicative of whether a person is washing their hands at the hand washing station or not. A controller may be configured to fuse the sensor output signals from each of two or more of the plurality of sensors and to determine using the fused sensor output signals whether the person has washed their hands at the hand washing station in compliance with one or more predetermined criteria or not. The controller may be further configured to output a notification when the controller has determined that the person has washed their hands at the hand washing station in compliance with the one or more predetermined criteria.

The models may help to precisely achieve a desired value of a parameter. The data analytics system may involve analysis of diverse data and may create insights of the items. The control system plus the data analytics system may close the loop between insights and on-premise controls of the items represented by the input-output models. The control and data analytics systems may merge the best of both worlds to solve difficult issues pertaining to the items. The structure may be for comfort control, energy reduction, and so on, having improved performance based on the convergence.

    Abstract: Instrument-cartridge interfaces for fluidic analyzers that have an instrument and a removable cartridge are disclosed. For example, and in one illustrative embodiment, the instrument may include a needle that is adapted to penetrate a septum on a removable cartridge. In another illustrative embodiment, the instrument may include a plunger that is adapted to deform a deformable membrane on a removable cartridge. In yet another illustrative embodiment, the instrument may include a nozzle that is adapted to mate and seal with a flow channel on a removable cartridge. Techniques for detecting the flow rate in a flow channel on a removable cartridge, as well as the position of fluid in a flow channel of a removable cartridge, are also disclosed.

    Abstract: A facial recognition system includes a memory for storing a facial image database, wherein the facial image database includes a plurality of entries each corresponding to a different person, and wherein each entry includes a person identifier along with one or more facial images of the person. The facial recognition system further includes a facial recognition module that is operatively coupled to the memory. The facial recognition module is configured to receive a new facial image, and to select one or more facial recognition engines based on one or more facial image parameters of the new facial image, and to use the selected facial recognition engines to compare the new facial image with facial models that are based upon facial images stored in the facial image database in order to identify the person in the new facial image.

    Abstract: A voice activated knowledge management system may be used as a virtual assistant. In some cases, a knowledge management system may be configured to receive a voice request from a user, generate and send a knowledge base query to each of the two or more different knowledge base engines, and fuse the resulting responses from the knowledge base engines, resulting in a fused response. The fused response may be provided back to the user as a response to the voice request and/or may be provided as a device command to control a corresponding device.
