摘要: A process is, herein, disclosed for electrolysis or pure water in an electrolytic cell which is divided into an anode compartment and a cathode compartment by a cation exchange membrane and in which pure water is supplied to the anode compartment for electrolysis to generate oxygen in the anode compartment and hydrogen in the cathode compartment, said cation exchange membrane being produced by grafting a fluorovinyl sulfonic acid monomer onto a membranous polymeric substrate having a monomer unit of the formula: ##STR1## (wherein X is hydrogen, fluorine or CH.sub.3 ; and Y is hydrogen or fluorine), said cation exchange membrane being used in close contact with an anode and a cathode.

摘要: A novel process for the production of a separator for use in a cell to prevent the short-circuiting of positive active material and negative active material comprises irradiating a polyolefin film 150 .mu.m or less thick with ionizing radiation at a dose rate of 5.times.10.sup.4 -10.sup.7 rads/sec. to give a total dose of 1 Mrad or more, contacting the irradiated film with an aqueous solution of a terminally unsaturated monomer such as acrylic acid, methacrylic acid and the like at a temperature of 10.degree. C.-60.degree. C. to thereby cause grafting of the monomer onto the polyolefin film before the grafted polymer film is treated with an aqueous alkaline solution to finally obtain the separator for use in a cell, which is substantially improved in that it shows low electrical resistance and is excellent both in its acid resistance and mechanical strength.

摘要: A battery separator composed of a composite sheet of film to which a monomer having a hydrophilic or electrolytic group is grafted is disclosed. Said film consists of a first polymeric layer containing a substance capable of catching a metal ion dissolved from a positive or negative active material and a second polymeric layer integrally bonded to either one or both sides of the first polymeric layer and which contains no such substance or contains it in a smaller amount that that contained in said first polymeric layer. Also disclosed is a method of producing a battery separator by irradiating such composite sheet of film with ionizing radiation and immersing the irradiated film in a solution of a monomer containing a hydrophilic or electrolytic group or bringing it into contact with the monomer solution to thereby graft the monomer to the film.

摘要: A high frequency circuit module having a non-reciprocal circuit element includes a circuit substrate that is composed of a multilayer substrate; and a high frequency circuit element having the non-reciprocal circuit element provided on the circuit substrate. The non-reciprocal circuit element includes a lower yoke composed of ferromagnetic membranes formed in the accommodating portion of the circuit substrate and the bottom surface; a ferrite member accommodated in the accommodating portion; first, second and third central conductors disposed on the ferrite member via a dielectric; a magnet; and an upper yoke disposed to cover the magnet and the accommodating portion. When the lower yoke is formed of the ferromagnetic membrane, the number of essential elements is less, productivity is high, a cost is low, and the non-reciprocal circuit element has a small size in a thickness direction, compared to a conventional lower yoke made of a metal plate.

摘要: The improved battery for reversible operation at ambient temperature comprises a negative electrode, a composite positive electrode which is composed of an ion-conductive high-molecular weight compound that has at least one ionic compound dissolved therein and that has a polyether structure and ion conductivity, an electrochemically active material and, optionally, an electron conductive material, and an electrolyte which is made of an ion-conductive high-molecular weight compound that has at least one ionic compound dissolved therein and that has a polyether structure and ion conductivity. The improvement is such that said composite positive electrode and said electrolyte are formed by exposure to an active radiation such as ultraviolet rays or ionizing radiation. Thanks to the improvement in electrolyte and positive electrode, the battery can be fabricated with great ease, is entirely free from the possibility of electrolyte leakage and has high long-term reliability and safety.

摘要: There is disclosed a novel cell separator made of a grafted membrane comprising a polyethylene film which is graft-copolymerized with a monomer having an ion exchange group, characterized in that said membrane has an area which is not grafted at all or an area of low degree grafting.
