    摘要: A process for the minimization of phosphonium ion ligand degradation products formed during reaction of a polyunsaturated olefin or an unconjugated functionalized olefin in the presence of a transition metal-triorganophosphine ligand complex catalyst to form as a product, by-product, or intermediate product a conjugated functionalized olefin having a carbon-carbon double bond conjugated to an a-electronwithdrawing group, such as, an a,β-unsaturated aldehyde, ketone, ester, acid, or nitrile. The minimization process involves conducting the reaction under selected conditions of conversion, temperature, pressure, or a combination thereof; and/or by selecting a triorganophosphine ligand with a specified steric and/or electronic property. Further, a process for reversion of phosphonium ion ligand degradation product(s) back to useful triorganophosphine ligand(s), the reversion involving treating a reaction product fluid containing the degradation product(s) with an inert gas, hydrogen, synthesis gas, or a mixture thereof under conditions sufficient to regenerate the triorganophosphine ligand(s).

    摘要: A process for producing a 1,3-diol, e.g., 1,3-propanediol, and/or a 3-hydroxyaldehyde, e.g., 3-hydroxypropionaldehyde, is disclosed which comprises contacting a combination of an epoxide, carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of a rhodium-containing.catalyst composition effective to promote the hydroformylation of the epoxide at conditions effective to form at least one of a 1,3-diol and a 3-hydroxyaldehyde. The rhodium-containing catalyst composition comprises an anionic rhodium-containing complex. A promoter component is preferably provided to enhance at least one of the rate and selectivity of the epoxide hydroformylation reaction. Rhodium-containing compositions and a processes for producing rhodium-containing compositions are also disclosed.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process for producing an optically active aldehyde (first aldehyde) containing a reduced amount of the corresponding enantiomeric aldehyde (second aldehyde) which process comprises: (1) providing an initial solution containing a non-eutectic mixture of the first aldehyde and the second aldehyde, which mixture has a composition in the compositional region where only the first aldehyde crystallizes when its solubility limit in the solution is exceeded, and (2) maintaining the solution at a temperature above the eutectic temperature of the mixture and under conditions such that the solubility limit of the first aldehyde is exceeded so as to form a crystalline first aldehyde containing relatively less of the second aldehyde than was present in the initial solution.

    摘要: In an improved process for telomerizing butadiene, contact butadiene and an organic hydroxy compound represented by formula ROH (I), wherein R is a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C20-hydrocarbyl and the organic hydroxy compound is not glycerol, in a reaction fluid in the presence of a palladium catalyst and a phosphine ligand represented by formula PAr3 (II), wherein each Ar is independently a substituted or unsubstituted aryl having a hydrogen atom on at least one ortho position, at least two Ar groups are ortho-hydrocarbyloxyl substituted aryls. The phosphine ligand has a total of two (2), three (3), four (4), five (5), or six (6) substituted or unsubstituted C1-C20-hydrocarbyloxyls, and optionally, any two adjacent substituents on an Ar group can be bonded to form a 5- to 7-membered ring.
