Abstract:
A white organic light emitting diode (OLED) includes an emission layer between two electrodes. The emission layer comprises two or more kinds of compounds for the host and two or more kinds of compounds for the dopant that facilitate production of a white color. Among the two or more kinds of compounds for the host, at least one is a hole transporting material and the other is an electron transporting material. The white OLED has improved stability which increases its efficiency and life.

Disclosed are methods and materials for enhancing the efficiency, specificity and/or specificity of nucleic acid amplification reactions (e.g., PCR amplification reactions). The disclosed inventions involve the use of nonspecific double-stranded DNA binding proteins in amplification reactions. The methods described herein are useful in a wide variety of molecular biology applications including allele specific PCR.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for encoding and decoding a modulation code are provided. The method includes: adding an error detection bit(s) to source information; performing k-constraint coding by inserting an error pattern that can be detected using an error detection code into a data stream that violates a k-constraint for a run length limited (RLL) code in a data stream comprising the error detection bit(s) and the source information, and recording the data stream after being k-constraint coded onto a recording medium; and reading the data stream recorded onto the recording medium and determining whether an error is present in the data stream.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus and a method for processing image thereof. The plasma display apparatus according to the present invention comprises a gray-level signal division part for dividing a gray-level signal during one frame into a first gray-level signal and a second gray-level signal, a high pass filter for filtering the first gray-level signal through high frequency bandwidth and a low pass filter for filtering the second gray-level signal through low frequency bandwidth.
Abstract:
A single-phase induction motor and a method for reducing noise in the same, which can eliminate unbalance between magnetomotive forces of main and auxiliary windings in a stator of the motor, thereby implementing a low noise, low vibration motor, and can also achieve balance between the magnetomotive forces of the stator windings in the entire running range of the motor, and can further achieve balance between the magnetomotive forces of the stator windings on the basis of temperature increase of the motor as it runs. The amplitude of a main-winding current flowing through the main winding in the stator is controlled to be equal to the amplitude of an auxiliary-winding current flowing through the auxiliary winding in the stator, and the phase difference between the main-winding and auxiliary-winding currents is controlled to be maintained at a predetermined value.

A cyclone vacuum cleaner including a plurality of cyclone chambers arranged in a group. The cyclone chambers are configured such that frequency characteristics of noises generated from respective cyclone chambers are different from each other.
Abstract:
A rate 7/8 MTR code encoding/decoding method and apparatus. The encoding method includes: generating a rate-7/8 MTR code for inputting 7-bit data and outputting a predetermined 8-bit codeword; checking whether codewords satisfy a predetermined constraint condition by connecting the 8-bit codeword and a subsequent 8-bit codeword; and if the codewords do not violate the constraint condition, not converting the codewords. The decoding method includes: checking whether the codewords satisfy a predetermined MTR constraint condition by connecting a current 8-bit codeword c(k) and a subsequent 8-bit codeword c(k+1); if the codewords violate the constraint condition, converting the codewords, and if the codewords do not violate the constraint condition, not converting the codewords; and decoding each converted 8-bit codeword into 7-bit data using a predetermined MTR code. Data is reliably reproduced with high write density, and large amounts of data are stored in and reproduced from a magnetic recording information storage medium.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for encoding and decoding an error correction block, and more particularly to a method for encoding and decoding an error correction block useful for a high-density optical disc. When an error correction block is encoded, a user data block is generated and parity outer information for a vertical data stream within the user data block is generated. Then, parity inner information is generated using an eraser detection code contained in a horizontal data stream or at least one of a syndrome check parity, a sync byte and an indicator flag is generated within the user data block so that an eraser can be declared in the horizontal data stream at a predetermined internal. On the other hand, when the error correction block is decoded, a determination is made as to whether errors are detected from the eraser detection code, the syndrome check parity, etc., and erasers are declared according to a result of the determination.
Abstract:
Integrated circuit devices include a semiconductor substrate and a sensor array region including a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements arranged in an array on the semiconductor substrate. A plurality of interlayer dielectric layers are on the sensor array region and a plurality of light transmissive regions extend through the plurality of interlayer dielectric layers from respective ones of the plurality of photoelectric conversion elements. A plurality of light reflecting metal elements are between ones of the plurality of interlayer dielectric layers, positioned outside of and between ones of the light transmissive regions. A photo absorption layer is formed on an upper surface of ones of the plurality of metal elements that inhibits reflection of light associated with the photoelectric conversion element of one of the light transmissive regions to another of the light-transmissive regions to limit crosstalk between the plurality of photoelectric conversion elements.
