Abstract: Embodiments include methods of fabricating a zeolite-like metal-organic framework with an ana-topology (ana-ZMOF) thin film membrane, the methods comprising: (1) modifying a substrate with ana-ZMOF crystal precursors in the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone; and (2) intergrowing the ana-ZMOF crystal precursors in the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone to form a continuous defect-free thin film of an ana-ZMOF intergrown on the substrate. Embodiments further include methods of separating chemical species comprising contacting an ana-ZMOF thin film membrane with a fluid composition containing one or more chemical species and separating at least one of the chemical species.

Embodiments of the present disclosure describe an anesthetic system comprising one or more regeneratable cartridges for sorbing and/or desorbing CO2, wherein each of the one or more regeneratable cartridge includes a metal-organic framework composition, wherein at least one of the regeneratable cartridges includes a SIFSIX-3-Cu MOF. Embodiments of the present disclosure describe an alkaline fuel cell comprising a catalyst layer including a SIFSIX-3-Cu MOF composition for sorbing and/or desorbing CO2.

Abstract: An air breathing filtering system includes a housing having an air input and an air output, a first filtering stage that filters out particles from a first air stream to generate a second air stream, and a second filtering stage that filters out germs from the second air stream to generate a third air stream, wherein the second filtering stage uses a different filtering process than the first filtering stage. The first air stream is received at the air input and the third air stream is discharged outside the housing at the air output. The second filtering stage uses a liquid to disable the germs from the second air stream.

Abstract: A method for making a metal-organic framework, MOF, as nanosheets, includes providing a MXene, wherein the MXene has a general formula of Mn+1XnTx, with n=1-3, M represents an early transition metal, X is C and/or N, and Tx is surface terminations; providing a ligand; mixing the MXene and the ligand in a vessel; heating the MXene and the ligand in the vessel; and forming the MX-MOF nanosheets. The MX-MOF nanosheets have a thickness less than 10 nm.
