摘要: A motorcycle is provided with a rear fork attached to a body frame so as to swing up and down freely. A rear wheel is attached to the rear end portion of the rear fork, a gear case is attached to a side of the rear wheel, and a drive shaft is provided between the gear case and an output shaft of a power unit. The output of the power unit is transmitted to the rear wheel via the drive shaft and the gear case. In the motorcycle, the gear case is supported by a rear-wheel axle provided in the rear end portion of the rear fork. A torque rod, which links an outer periphery portion of the gear case with the rear fork, serves as a stopper for rotation of the gear case. The resulting configuration provides a shaft-drive system that reduces the assembling time of the torque rod, and improves the productivity of the main line.

摘要: An apparatus for recording and/or reproducing a disc-shaped recording medium. A medium is placed on each of a plurality of placement members. The members are stacked and housed in a housing unit. An elevating mechanism elevates the housing unit in the direction almost parallel to the stack direction of the members. A carrying mechanism carries one of the members among a position where a medium can be placed or ejected to/from the member, a position where the member is housed in the housing unit and a position where the medium placed on the member is loaded to the recording and/or reproducing unit. A driving source drives both the carrying mechanism and the elevating mechanism. A switching mechanism selectively supplies a driving force from the driving source to the carrying mechanism and the elevating mechanism. A photodetector detects the presence/absence of the medium on the members in the housing unit.

摘要: To improve the operability of push rods. A link-type front suspension for a front wheel includes forked pipes, push rods, damping devices, upper links, and pivot links. The push rod and the damping device are disposed substantially coaxially with each other in a side view and are rotatably connected to each other. Upper ends of the damping devices and upper ends of the forked pipes are connected by an upper bracket. A top bridge is provided to mount the upper ends of the forked pipes, and a steering stem is provided to mount intermediate portions of the forked pipes. A stem pipe is provided for connecting a rear central portion of the top bridge to a rear central portion of the steering stem and is turnably mounted to a head pipe. A leading end of the pivot arm is connected to an axle. The length of the pivot arm is equal to that of the upper link. The left side upper link extends forwardly from a point connected to the push rod, and the extending end thereof is connected to a mounting portion of a front fender. A fender link, being substantially equal in length to the upper link and parallel thereto, is provided on the right side of the vehicle at a position lower than the upper link. One end of the fender link is connected to the forked pipe. Thus, the upper link, fender link, front fender and forked pipe form an approximately parallelogram link.

摘要: A recording and/or reproducing apparatus for a magneto-optical recording medium housed within a disc cartridge. The recording and/or reproducing unit includes a magnetic head for applying a perpendicular magnetic field to the magneto-optical recording medium. A transporting unit includes a holding section for holding the inserted disc cartridge and a pair of cam members for moving the holding section in horizontal and vertical directions in a casing. The cam members are moved a first horizontal displacement as a result of insertion of the disc cartridge and set a driving unit into an operating state. The cam members cause the holding section to be moved in the horizontal direction by a second horizontal displacement of the cam members. The cam members cause the holding section to be loaded on the recording and/or reproducing unit by a third horizontal displacement continuous with the second horizontal displacement.

摘要: An image forming apparatus comprises a rotatable image carrying member, a charger, a scanner unit for forming a latent image at an exposure position on the surface of the image carrying member charged by the charger, a developing device for converting the latent image to a toner image, and a transfer roller for transferring the toner image on the image carrying member to a recording paper by application of a transfer voltage to the toner image. A conductive member is provided on a charger case covering the charger adjacent to the charger and between the charger and the exposure position. The conductive member is positioned close to the surface of the photosensitive drum. Thus, ions (positive charges) generated by the charger are prevented from reaching the exposure position where the latent image is formed. As a result, negative effects on the image quality of the toner image caused by ions generated by the charger inadvertently recharging discharged portions of the surface of the image carrying member can be averted. Additionally, the image forming apparatus comprises a pre-charging device for emitting light to fully discharge the image carrying member before it is charged by the charger. A blocking wall extends circumferentially along the image carrying member from a partition wall positioned between the charger and the pre-charging device. The blocking wall prevents light emitted by the pre-charging device from reaching the charger, thus preventing the pre-charger from inadvertently discharging the image carrying member.

摘要: A front fork for a saddle-type vehicle includes a front wheel and a pair of left and right leg members disposed on opposite sides of the front wheel. Each of the left and right leg members includes an outer tube having a lower end portion thereof journaling an axle of the front wheel, an inner tube slidably fitted into the outer tube and having an upper portion thereof connected to a head pipe of the vehicle, and a spring installed in a compressed state between the outer and inner tubes. The respective springs of the left and right leg members are set to have different weights from one another. As such, the front fork is configured to correct a weight imbalance between left and right sides of the vehicle body, while increasing freedom in the layout of the vehicle body.
