    摘要: A common-rail injection system includes a first accumulator of high pressure and a second accumulator of low pressure. The common-rail injection system includes a post injection control device for injecting additional low-pressure fuel from the second accumulator through a fuel injection nozzle after main fuel is injected. The post injection control device injects the additional fuel the injection terminates at a first timing when the fuel pressure in either fuel passage or second accumulator lowers to a predetermined value lower than that of the high-pressure fuel or at a second timing when an exhaust stroke of the engine is completed, whichever earlier.

    摘要: After an engine has been started, a controller 8 of a fuel injection system opens an injection rate switching change-over valve 5 for a period of time not less than a fuel injection period until the time a fuel pressure in a low pressure accumulator 4 connected to the portion of a fuel passage 10a which is on the downstream side of the change-over valve 5 has reached a set level, whereby a fuel injection starting delay ascribed to a fuel pressure decrease in the second accumulator can be prevented. After the engine has been started, the controller 8 of the fuel injection system sets the change-over valve opening starting time in each fuel injection cycle to the time earlier than the injector opening starting time, or the opening starting time of both an injector and change-over valve to the time earlier than those in a regular mode until the time the fuel pressure in the low-pressure accumulator 4 connected to the portion of the fuel passage 10a which is on the downstream side of the injection rate switching change-over valve 5 has reached the set level, whereby the fuel injection starting delay can be prevented.     摘要: During a transitional operation of an engine in which an engine load is changed suddenly from a high load to a low load, a control operation for extending an opening period of a change-over valve which is adapted to switch a low-pressure accumulator and a high-pressure accumulator from one to the other during a fuel injection operation is carried out to increase a flow rate of a fuel supplied to the low-pressure accumulator and thereby reduce the pressure in the high-pressure accumulator, whereby a response delay of the fuel pressure in the high-pressure accumulator is minimized. During a transitional operation of the engine in which the engine is in an accelerated operation, the change-over valve is kept open until the fuel pressure in the low-pressure accumulator, which is connected to the portion of a fuel passage which is on the downstream side of the change-over valve adapted to switch the low-pressure accumulator and high-pressure accumulator from one to the other during a fuel injection operation, reaches an indicated level, and until a predetermined period of time elapses after the fuel injection finishing time, whereby the formation of a fuel pressure in the low-pressure accumulator is promoted to obtain injection condition suiting the operating condition of the engine.

    摘要: A booster unit is provided in an injector of a fuel injection system. The booster unit includes a booster piston accommodated in a pressure chamber, and a discharge valve capable of discharging fuel in a backpressure chamber. A needle valve drive unit includes a pressure-receiving piston and an open/close valve. A return passage is connected to a discharge side of the open/close valve. A fuel discharge passage in communication with the discharge valve is combined with the return passage in a confluence portion. A check valve is provided between the confluence portion and the open/close valve. A check valve permits the fuel discharged to the return passage from a pressurization chamber to be directed to the confluence portion, and prevents the fuel discharged to the fuel discharge passage from the backpressure chamber from being directed the open/close valve.

    摘要: There is provided an apparatus that estimates the NOx adsorption amount, comprising a NOx trap catalyst that is disposed in an exhaust passage of an engine, for adsorbing NOx in exhaust gases during lean operation and releasing and reducing the adsorbed NOx during rich operation, an operation unit that computes an amount of emission from the catalyst during rich operation by using a map or a polynomial equation that reflects emissions from the catalyst based on the exhaust gas temperature and the exhaust gas flow rate of the exhaust passage and the excess-air factor upstream of the catalyst, and an estimating unit that estimates an amount of adsorption in the NOx trap catalyst from the computed emission amount.
