A holding device for a mobile terminal in a vehicle includes: a holder detachably mounted to a front surface of a dashboard, and configured to insertedly retain the mobile terminal therein; a data transceiver configured to receive vehicle information from the vehicle, and to transmit the vehicle information to the mobile terminal, and power connection terminals positioned in the holder for providing power to the mobile terminal, wherein the power connection terminals automatically put the mobile terminal into a vehicle mode when the mobile device and the vehicle are electrically connected to each other.

A terminal and controlling method thereof are disclosed. The present invention includes detecting whether a message transmission command is inputted in the course of driving the vehicle, when the message transmission command is inputted, creating a message including at least one information provided by at least one application provided to the terminal, and transmitting the created message.Accordingly, a driver of a moving vehicle automatically creates and transmits a message including application and vehicle informations suitable for a predetermined format by a single manipulation, thereby facilitating the message to be transmit safely and conveniently in the course of driving the vehicle.

The present invention relates to an electronic device capable of providing route information and a method for controlling same. An electronic device capable of providing route information according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a wireless communications unit, a search unit for searching out a destination inputted by the user, a display unit for setting, as a destination, one of the places searched out by the search unit and for displaying the route of the set destination, and a control unit for sending a control signal to control at least one electric home appliance based on an expected time of arrival at the destination.

Disclosed are an image display device and a method thereof capable of detecting a distance between an obstacle included in a distorted image captured by a wide angle camera and a vehicle to thus prevent an occurrence of an accident in which the vehicle collides with the obstacle so as to damaged, in advance. The image display device includes: a storage unit configured to store obstacle characteristic images previously captured from multiple viewpoints; an image capture unit configured to capture images of a surrounding area of a vehicle; a controller configured to detect an obstacle from the captured images on the basis of the images captured by the image capture unit and the obstacle characteristic images, and generate warning information when a distance value between the vehicle and the obstacle is equal to or smaller than a first pre-set distance value; and a display unit configured to display the generated warning information.
