摘要: The invention relates to a vehicle having a detection device for detecting a property of a vehicle occupant and an operator control and display device which is coupled to the detection device, has a display region and is configured to display information in the display region and by means of which a symbol can be displayed in the display region as a function of the sensed property. It is provided here that the property which is detected by means of the detection device is a position of the vehicle occupant, and the operator control and display device is configured to display the symbol in a partial region of the display region which is determined as a function of the detected position, and to assign the symbol to the vehicle occupant in such a way that when there is a change in position of the vehicle occupant that the symbol follows the vehicle occupant. The invention also relates to a method for operating such a vehicle. The invention makes particularly flexible use of the vehicle possible.

摘要: A user, such as the driver of a vehicle, to retrieve information related to a point of interest (POI) near the vehicle by pointing at the POI or performing some other gesture to identify the POI. Gesture recognition is performed on the gesture to generate a target region that includes the POI that the user identified. After generating the target region, information about the POI can be retrieved by querying a server-based POI service with the target region or by searching in a micromap that is stored locally. The retrieved POI information can then be provided to the user via a display and/or speaker in the vehicle. This process beneficially allows a user to rapidly identify and retrieve information about a POI near the vehicle without having to navigate a user interface by manipulating a touchscreen or physical buttons.

The vehicle control device comprises: a single touch screen; and a single control unit, which includes at least two different operating system programs which independently operate, and controls each of the operating system programs to display image information on the single touch screen, wherein the control unit controls the touch screen to enable at least one of the operating system programs to display image information on the touch screen, according to at least one of operation states of the operating system programs and the state of the vehicle.

摘要: A vision system for a vehicle includes a forward viewing camera. Responsive at least in part to processing by an image processor of image data captured by the forward viewing camera, at least one road characteristic of a road along which the vehicle is traveling is detected. Responsive at least in part to processing by the image processor of image data captured by the forward viewing camera, other vehicles exterior the equipped vehicle are detected. Responsive at least in part to processing by the image processor of image data captured by the forward viewing camera, road curvature of the road along which the vehicle is traveling is determined. Data derived from image data captured by the forward viewing camera may be wirelessly communicated from the vehicle to a remote data receiver located remote from the vehicle.

摘要: Some embodiments are directed to hierarchical based computer implemented methods and systems for controlling predetermined vehicle operations upon receiving requests from vehicle occupants. The methods and systems include identifying vehicle occupants regardless of their location within the vehicle, and matching an identified vehicle occupant who has entered a request with one profile of a hierarchy of stored profiles. Each profile can correspond to at least one of the occupants who has been identified, and provides authorization to control certain of the predetermined operations. The methods and systems also include accepting the request to control the requested operation if the matched profile provides authorization to control the requested operation, rejecting the request to control the requested operation if the matched profile does not provide authorization to control the requested operation, and enabling implementation of the requested operation if the request has been accepted based on the matched profile providing authorization.

摘要: A system for enhancing the visibility of a ground surface adjacent to a land vehicle is provided. The system includes a mobile communication device, a hand-held communication device and control logic coupled to the mobile device and operative to determine if the hand-held device is an authorized device. An imaging assembly is supported on the vehicle to obtain an image of the ground surface. An image processor processes the image to detect an obstacle located on the ground surface. The control logic is operative to generate a display command signal. A display device is responsive to the signal to display in real time the detected obstacle or a welcome mat onto or adjacent the vehicle for enhanced viewing by an approaching pedestrian when the pedestrian carrying the authorized device is located within a predetermined range of the mobile device.

One example method includes establishing a connection with a vehicle over a wireless network, and associating the vehicle to a user account of an online service, wherein a vehicle type for the vehicle is identified in the user account. The method further includes receiving vehicle data for vehicle status information. The vehicle status information is for one or more vehicle systems of the vehicle. The method includes accessing one or more databases that include diagnostics data for the vehicle type and crowd sourced data for the vehicle type. The method includes processing the vehicle data that is received against the diagnostics data and the crowed sourced data. The processing is configured to select an alert from among a plurality of possible alerts. The crowd sourced data is configured to influence a confidence level for selecting the alert. The method includes sending a notification of the alert to the user account. The notification includes a recommended solution for handling the alert.

摘要: Described herein is an onboard vehicle system capable of determining that a driver of a vehicle is distracted and implementing one or more distraction settings to mitigate unsafe driving conditions. In some embodiments, the onboard vehicle system includes one or more input sensors configured to gather input related to a driver, one or more component adjusters configured to adjust attributes of a vehicle component, and a processor device configured to receive input from the one or more input sensors, determine whether the driver is distracted, and activate the one or more component adjusters. In some embodiments, the onboard vehicle system may be in communication with a service provider computer configured to maintain a user account for a driver along with a driver distraction profile.
